Player count on a free fall
Lowest count of 27-plus thousand was achieved in the last 24 hours just a few days after the PSN debacle (36-plus thousand as of the time of this writing). Coincidence or a direct result of a lot of players losing trust to both AH and Sony altogether? Or is this just the natural slowdown/decline as many other games not named CS, COD, PUBG, etc?

Either way, we'll see more and more major orders not getting fulfilled anymore and I'm curious as to how AH will adapt to this new reality on top of now having many players being unhappy with the endless nerfs and buffs mostly not benefitting the fun aspect of the game.

personally its a combo of waiting to the end of the month to make sure this all sticks and absolutely hating the balance and design vision that is being shown. On launch and even the first patches, the game was great but im tired of all the guns being subpar bar a few standouts.

I'm waiting to see an official statement via steam recanting the announcement on mandatory PSN linking, and then waiting until the original deadline for that before I risk playing regularly again. Anything in the interim is just half-assedly picking at my remaining achievements to see if I can 100% the game before the cutoff date.

Actions speak louder than words, and the original sony announcement is both still up and not contradicted by a more recent announcement. I don't particularly want to commit much more time to the game until I know for sure I have reason to.

You only need 4 players to form a team. Lowering the MO score needed is easy, almost as easy as ignore the leaving masses (they paid for the game already, after all, so joke´s on them).

Great? Nope. Game-breaking? Neither.

This is a short-sighted, not well thought out take..

HD2 is a live service game. The more people play, the easier it is to cover the costs of operating said service.
Yes, the buy-in covers a nice chunk, but without the recurring spending, live services die. Even the ones that stay might never give a cent again after this mess.

That is the very definition of game-breaking.

HD1 survived with a peak of 7k players, this is not game breaking, the game is designed to be adjustable to player counts. HD2 was far more successful than Arrowhead anticipated, but its NATURE allowed it to adjust to the insane player count, and it will adjust to whatever the playercount stabilizes at.

Tired of Helldivers newcomers spreading misinformation.

Choosing to report valley player numbers instead of peak player numbers or median player numbers is an agenda driven narrative. Disregarded.

HD1 is still here, less than 1k player and the war is still going. Still have a lot of fun from it

the game had lost 2/3 of its player base due to arrowheads scummy nerfs to push new warbond sales BEFORE the sony debacle.

I had warned people 100 times over, argued with the bigger youtubers, and arrowhead staff themselves that the nerfs were just lazy game design and will cause a huge player drop off.

I was scolded, attacked, used for clout, yet here we are with me right as rain as always.

hell the first week into the game i was out here warning they stealth nerfed stratagems to slow player progression down.

their last game had like 10 people playing on avg. I'm sure they can adjust if the player count really is dropping xD which despite all the malding and bs, doesnt really seem like anythings changed, game is top 3 selling on steam right now.

Mald, there's no scummy nerfs. As an Eruptor main, I can safely tell you I've not noticed losing half my ammo, because I wasn't spraying it to begin with. Quasar nerf? I expect an infinite ammo anti-tank weapon to have a strong drawback. I expected a long recharge, so adding five seconds is irrelevant because you weren't going to spam fire it like an RR anyway. Pistol getting buffed to higher damage than the machine pistol is an awesome boon for me as I always felt it did more damage anyway, so this making it official is great- the P-19 sucked anyway.

You must be new to Helldivers. You're not a god. You're not special. You're not even a bloody special forces character. You're some SEAF schmuck who was given a cape and told they were good. You use economic arms, they're not god-tier, and you LIKE it.

God it's like listening to someone whine about how they get their arse handed to them in Kenshi by a bandit. That's the point of that game- you're nothing, less than dirt. That's not lazy game design, that's a failure of the player to understand what the hell they're playing!

Ahh, here it is, we have some high horse clown out to tell everyone about how high their horse really is. Good for you?

Assuming malice? Hanlon's Razor disagrees with you. They overspeced things, and needed to tune them down. Gamers™ are so fragile that if their metabuilds get touched at all their jimmies get rustled to the maximum. Adapt, improvise, become one of those insane guys on Helldive with a liberator kicking bot ass!

I know people hate it when I ♥♥♥♥ on games they like, but the gameplay loop is so repetitive that I lost all interest and I don't feel like doing the same thing over and over just to unlock the rest.
Unless they offer more variety I doubt I'll be coming back any time soon. This whole kerfuffle has pushed me very far away from the reinstall button, too.

Why'd you bother posting then? Stay or go, but don't try to make news of it.

As many, i wwont change review and almost no play until we have an official announcement and that they remove the third party comment from the store page. It's still here and until it's gone, it means that's third party linking is not gone.

Ok well peak numbers used to be variably in the 200 to 400K's, but since April 7, it just kept dropping which means the median is also on a precipitous drop.

Now is that a breaking news to you? XD

177, that's a big number.
