Planet liberation progress a farce?
I swear even when a planet has a hundred thousand people playing on it. Progress remains at 0%. It is like the devs turn on the ability for liberation progress to be allowed.

I rather our war efforts be real than artificial. Multiple times now I have seen huge amounts of liberation percentage get lost within minutes. Other examples are planets that keep resetting to 0% despite tens of thousands of players. It would be nice if completing higher difficulty operations yielded higher liberation progress as well. Right now you can farm faster liberation doing 5 minute trivial matches than completing entire helldiver operations.

Also I dont buy that this is caused solely from lost matches. Each match won is 0.00010 or 0.00030 for winning an operation. Yet somehow we can lose 10%,20%, 80% instantly...

Make liberation great again

update 1

Another thread brought this link to my attention. It pretty much confirms the devs are actively adjust/change/redirect the war as they wish to run a select story narrative. So your war contributions mean next to nothing; as the devs will keep resetting our progress to run the story they want. Instead of forming a story around what the players are doing. They are instead forcing us to follow a story regardless of our choices/grind.

Additionally the devs corrected a previous statement that mission losses hurt liberation progress. It was confirmed losing a mission does "not" decrease liberation progress or help the enemy.

taking this info from helldivers.io

How does the math behind Liberation work?

Each planet has an internal max HP. When attacking, the planet has 1000000. When defending, this varies from 600k-~2mil.
Each planet regens HP per second, ranging from 2.8 hp/s (bot planets) to 20 hp/s (bug planets). The game master can change these values at any time. NOTE - defense campaign doesn't regen hp, it is purely timer based
Each Operation a Helldiver completes deals damage to the planet.
Damage formula TBD
Does abandoning an operation negatively impact the %? No, it does not.

Why do all the planets seem to reset their status everyday? Bugs and bots DO NOT sleep, they are constantly pushing back (hp regen). So overnight, when Americans (the biggest player base) are sleeping, the bugs and bots take back a lot of the planet. See the 2nd bullet in how Liberation math works.

What is the deal with "Other Planets"? This is people who are playing the game as an individual, and are having very little impact to the galactic war. They are dealing less damage than the planet regens health, so it's constantly at full health. NOTE - the game master can account for this, so they aren't negatively impacting the userbase.

i was watching the television in my ship other day and there are news broadcasts that show the galactic map. while they are still displaying when game came out it really made me wonder if its all planned out?

Well, I assume it is supposed to escalate, leading to an eventual defense of Super Earth. It's all a bit hammy anyway, similar to Helldivers 1. Mostly a reason to rotate out modifiers and maps.

I was thinking about this earlier. I think it's a result of there being like 5000x the players that they thought there would be, there was probably a plan for how it was gonna go and seem really organic but that's out the window now.

Also: servers are busted so there's that. Nobody's really "complaining" about this at the moment so maybe they're aware it's broken and just aren't saying anything about it.

There are people playing on planets with 100% progress...

Yeah that is also an odd one. I have noticed the same in the Orion sector where it maintains a 60-160 playerbase. Im guessing these people just never left their planet after it was liberated.

i think people are mostly fighting the bugs as the bots are scary, which is why we are not making good progress on the planetary defence objective.

Yea , fighting the robots on high difficulties is a nightmare tbh .

Watched Erata Prime drop from 50% to 30% today. Even with 150k players.

Liberation rate is real, but losing missions kills the rate.

I have seen a lot of matches lost because people play in difficulties that they are not yet ready to take on and so the % go down.

if you have an operation going on you can finish it even after the planets been liberated.

Yes, however the orion sector closed a week ago.

Now that server problems seem to be somewhat fixed (theres still some disconnects etc) devs can start working on other stuff. Like bug fixing (armor), more objectives and even the percentages on the planet conquest so its neither too easy nor too hard

It's probably something to do with the data not being processed properly on the server end.

I don't know what happen between 20h11 to 21h51, because we were at 3.24600 % on VANDALON IV and now we are at 1.28890%

Interesting.
I find automatons easer on helldive difficulty compared to the never ending stream of bugs rushing you in melee.
