Is Helldivers 1 still up?

If everyone who can't get in played Helldivers 1 we could probably finish a campaign or several by the time the servers for 2 are playable. It'd be a good opportunity for people to play the original and make it easier to directly compare it to the new one. It's a pretty good game, it got a sequel for a reason.

Or i could play Last Epoch instead... or any number of other games. There is a reason i never played Helldivers 1, after all.

HD1 was okay, but definitely not for everyone. I didn't like it much, but this game I really enjoy.

Yep, it works as it ever did, just be warned that while there is still decent amount of people to play with 95% are super hardened veterans that play it for a decade and take mistakes very seriously :P

I didn't mean it in a bad way, it's inevitable to give people "Judgemental stare" if you play something for a decade and they are just starting. :D

Honestly one of the main reasons why I stopped playing Helldivers 1, is many got super particular about absolutely everything, or would just simply kick without giving people a chance to prove themselves. It gets really old really fast when the response is to kick because person X is not using the meta I prefer, or because they are too high level, or too low level, or because they don't some how telepathically understand how I want to play. Or I simply cannot be bothered to private the game and just kick whoever joins.

Not saying everyone was like that, but there were a tone of elitist meta only types that were not at all fun to play with.

I have HD1 and did not like it much. They brought a lot over from that game and I find it hard to understand why but I can tolerate it much more in 3rd person than I can top down, both of which I am a fan of.

downside for me was the horrible team camera view.. it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ people over if you had 1 person that didnt want to move or went afk.. if it was a cam view only on you it would have been better.. but as is not having a solo or coop invite mode makes the game not playable when the "season" ends with super earth blowing up or all enemies getting wiped out no telling if there will ever be a "reset" in our lifetimes
