How to turn off the floaty circle crosshair?
Like the title says. I have a crosshair, and then there's this floaty circle that tries to "catch up" to the crosshair. It's driving me nuts... how can I turn that off?

If you aim down the sight, the floating circle thing is no longer an issue. Middle mouse button to ADS on PC. No idea about ps5

I just want the circle without the lines. It is great for hip firing. I am playing helldive difficulty. Sure I could have learned where stuff fires and the fore most part I think I do, but damn it is handy. Recoil on some of the guns helps with the dot lining up with the circle, so I guess the two lines on the sides of the circle and dot would be nice to get rid of.

That's got nothing to do with the circle, taht has to do with the circle/crosshair as a combination.

I am aware the circle is where my bullets will go, and as such it certainly feels like something that's been put in due to crossplay, so that gamepad users will be able to stay somewhat competitive, but I still wish I could turn it off so it's not visual clutter. Might be time for the old "tape a dot" to my screen and turn off the crosshair.

Yes, it's clearly because of console players and their limited turn rates compared to a mouse. This nonsense is trying to level the playing field.

And it is nonsense.

When you turn in real life, you don't turn your head first and then your body follows. If you're actually aiming down a weapon, you don't stop aiming, turn your head, then your body and then aim down the sights again. You keep aiming down the sights the entire time.

No, it's not. It has nothing to do with consoles.
It's a game mechanic representing your ability to handle different guns. Lines represent where you are looking/intending to shoot. Dot represents where gun is actually looking.
You can notice that in case of pistols and SMGs the dot can follow line reticle very fast, while in case of machineguns, rocketlaunchers and other big stuff, dot moves pretty slow.
If you want to sync gun with your look just go in ADS, but your turn rate will be dramatically slower on bigger guns.
What it helps to achieve?
1) You can freely look around without being hindered by your gun's rotation speed
2) There is difference in gun behaviour depending on their size and weight
3) You can still go ADS

It has nothing to do with PC and consoles. There isn't ever going to be PVP. This is a cooperative game. It's how the game represents the fact that a mac 10 can be swung around and accurately fired with one hand, while it takes a second to aim up a 20 pound anti tank weapon.

I can say from personal training AND experience in real life, that's EXACTLY how it works. Scan for threat (head on swivel), threat identified, turn towards target and engage.
What do you think a Contact Right/Left Drill is???

You may not be aware of it, but the line-dot combination is where your CAMERA is facing and the 'floaty circle' is where the barrel of your WEAPON is facing.

If having that is somehow upsetting to you, you could always just fire without aiming first.

Okay.

Test this theory.

Lock your neck in one position and NEVER move your eyes left or right. ONLY turn with your body.

Tell me how 'organic' that feels.

The weapons are meant to be weighty, and thus it's not gonna be very accurate when you shoot while you're moving. The circular reticle is there to let you see where your bullet are landing.

Without it, you would be scratching your head at why your bullet aren't going to where you're pointing half of the time.

Without it you might as well be blind.

Guys, I'm here for the opposite thing. It's possible to disable static reticle, and keep floating circle?

If you turn that off, your next steam forum topic will be "Game is broken! My shots never land where I'm pointing at!"

Wouldn't that just make it harder to center your aim on a weak point while the circle adjusts?

If anything you should be able to turn off the static crosshair and just have the circle, since the static crosshairs dont serve a purpose

They actually do. Static crosshair is where circle is trying to get. Without it, you'll have no understanding where circle is going, only "general idea". Means you won't be able to aim well without it.
