Against bugs, extra grenades or extra stims (Because hunters suck.) against bots, 50% explosive resistance, because devastators suck lol.

Highest mobility armor is the best armor.

No amount of armor will save you, if you're forced to fight something you're not ready for because you're out of stamina.

I personally like the stealth one (-30% enemy detection range) the best, because it reduces accidental aggro too. I skip most fights alltogether.

Due to armor being bugged, the only heavy armor of use is the 50% damage reduction against explosives armor.

I typically recommend using the medium armor with 50% chance to not die. It is the one thing that can save you against friendly strikes and other shenanigans. It also has no coolodown

With this in mind I would say the objectively strongest armor is stim based light/medium armor. Stims seem to give damage reduction, infinite stamina and healing over their duration, and it increases the duration by a whole 2 seconds. It's not hard to take chip damage either. With this in mind, it will not save you from strikes.

I prefer speed to defense. Im wearing the lightest armor ive seen yet. I got the first light one and then got another light one that was even lighter, so, faster.

Personally, I just go for whatever looks nice, but, anything with Extra Stims, or Throwing Distance is nice, and Explosive Resistance

However, only one set of armour is king when you want to stealth and it's that marksman/scout/stealth suit from the Warbond page 7 IIRC, the helmet even gives you a Speed/Stamina boost as well. Only helmet that gives you Stats. (It doesn't say on the helmet, but it affects your armour)
You can get within spitting distance and the enemy won't spot you.

I forget the name, but it's one of the earlier armor unlocks that lets you yeet strats way further. Really useful all around, don't need to walk up an outpost to call some 500kg of liberty upon it.

♥♥♥♥ the stats... Go with the Rule of cool... My getup makes me look like an NCR Ranger, it also halves explosive damage but I dont care about that tbh, I gotta look bad ass while I Spill Oil!!!!

At this point fashion is more important, but if you really want to "minmax", trailblazer is probably one of the best armors currently simply because of the armor bug.

Bring grenades for nest blitz and sentries for eradicate. There is no one fits all. Only what works best for the mission at hand.

Also for anyone curious how or why the armor rating is bugged. This thread covers everything.

I beg to differ, id rather have light armor 100% of the time no matter who I fight, if i gotta move I wanna be able to GTFO of there.

Adapt. In general speed is more beneficial for bugs, heavy for robots. Mixing and matching types with bonuses that fix what you use is the general idea.
