Game's matchmaking doesn't work, so you HAVE to have a pre-made group.
I had to leave a couple matches I was hosting because some cool guy joins and wants to take over the mission. They have to hop on all the consoles at objectives, they're dropping their own waypoints, and they try to control everything and run through the maps as fast as humanly possible. Oh and they just drop orbitals and/or air strikes on the rest of the team rather than shooting it out a little bit.
Please don't be that guy. Follow the host's lead or GTFO and host your own session, ya frickin ahole..
Get it when you know you can just play the game whenever you want and not be having to stare at a "servers at capacity" screen.
Here is an honest, unbiased answer.
Yes.
A mic is 100% not needed.
You can use quick chats by holding Q.
The quick chats plus pinging covers everything you/they need.
Now will they use it?
Maybe they will, maybe they wont, but at least the UI gives you all the information you need.
