There is always the same crew on every player's ship. So I have the dude with the eye patch on my bridge. You have the dude with the eye patch on your bridge.

Last night, my friend was host. And he had all the same crew as I have.

That's immersion breaking.

Is it any more immersion breaking if there were 3 guys to choose from and your friend just happened to choose the same one as you?

This is just a concession of the medium.

And the chances of us configuring our crew exactly the same would be what?

So instead of maybe a 1% chance of us choosing the exact same crew setup, we have a 100% chance of having the exact same setup?

That's not a "concession to the medium" by the devs, that's an oversight.

Okay, so you see three identical people that you also have on your ship, but the fourth person is slightly different so it's fine?

So why then can we name our ship, when there is the possibility of someone else having the same name?

Differently named ships, but then the crew is always identical.

This is clearly an oversight by Arrowhead that you're attempting to defend with comical mental gymnastics.

Again, it's a limitation of the medium. Just like in an MMO, we're all the main hero. We all individually defeated the big bad and all individually saved the world. Diegetically, we're all the same person at the same time even when we're mechanically distinct people.

It's just in helldivers, we're not a tangible 'person'. We're the current helldiver in charge of our ship.

If you find someone with the same name of your ship the chance of that is 1:1 000 000 000 000 if not more from the list of names and different players numbers.I am to lazy to actually do the math for intelligent player as you. Lets just say if you do find someone with same name of the ship as you have, well you just spent your one life time lucky chance to win lottery.

Still amazes me how OPs like this arent just banned and tossed aside.

Steam is actually very tolerant of racism.

Steam is also very tolerant of homophobia and sexism. Steam is not tolerant though, if you call someone a clown or some other minor insult, unfortunately :(

I just want to say, due to the lighting on the ship, it makes the skin tones look darker than they actually are.

Um, FYI, to Super Earth, EVERYONE is expendable. Skin color matters less than gender which matter less than bed partner which matters less than religion which matters less than YOU ARE HERE TO DIE FOR SUPER EARTH!

FOR FREEDOM!

Can we talk about the bald chick who greets us after a mission, and how the lighting often makes it look like she has male-pattern baldness?
