Do you have to talk to people a lot in game?
I am autistic. I can follow orders and get after an objective, but I don't want to have to talk to teammates myself.

I don't want to be judged.

There's a text box, and if thats not your thing you can hold the ping (Q) button and you get quick responses

Its not required by any means, but it sure helps

No, there's a wheel with orders on it, hold a button down and choose a message from the wheel type thing.

"i need supplies", "'Thanks", "Sorry" etc...

My mic isn't detected by the game. You can play the game without comms. Host your own lobbies if you're worried about ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kicking you for "not communicating" though. There are ♥♥♥♥♥ out there.

You don't really gotta talk to people a lot, most randoms I've played with don't chat a whole lot

I've never heard anyone use their mic in this game. There is a text chat box that you can use if you choose. Most matches go by w/o any communication in my experience. Most people know what to do and just do it. You don't have anything to worry about.

i'm in a similar position as you. You don't have to talk over voice chat and honestly i never recognized someone doing it. IMO it isnt necessary to use voice chat at the moment.

The most talkative guy I've ever met in game was brazilian and he had amazing call outs and pings. I don't speak any portuguese though so it was a bit tough.

Well, I've a mic and I could talk and would talk, if necessary (I'm not the talkative guy) but at least in the low level I played until now, this wasn't the case. I guess in higher levels it probably would be good to shortly discuss the targets maybe.

Probably 90% of the random squads I've played with haven't interacted in any way, aside from marking targets and dropping pins in the map. In the few games where someone does type or talk, it's usually one, maybe two people.

I've had success with just writting in chat and pinging in the map and with the ping system alone.

Thanks for the quick answers. I think I'll give the game a try. Sounds like I should be able to get by.

Don't sweat it. I don't like to talk to people i don't know well either. Learning the quick coms through Q helps, but isn't needed. Just go with the flow and cover your teammates' backs. Don't worry about accidentally blowing somebody up, just do your best to not do it a lot. Someone always wants to be the leader and ping where to go, so you shouldn't have to worry about that pressure.

its very fun very worth it
you don't have to talk, especially if you go to the official discord and lfg for people with your exact specs. lots of people post lfg's for no mics.

I played over a hundred games and I had the mic off most of the time. When I did speak then never anything I couldn't have used the in-game voice lines for (you can say "yes", "follow me" or ping things). Most other players remain completely silent and no one minds.
