Absolutely love the Stalwart, been looking for an Assault Rifle that comes even close to it but alas it's really a squad support weapon. Sadly I'm forced away from it over the grenade launcher.
Maybe keep it where it's at but give it 4 magazines instead of 3. I guess if they make it a primary nobody would take anything else probably.
it was a primary in the first game anyway
hell the Railgun had less ammo and used to be in the primary slot, but you could bring that with an MG or some other back weapon
If they're going to put a machine gun in a strategem slot, it should be something truly special.
Stalwart feels so nice because of its large mag and the ability to hold out long enough to clear a patrol and in most cases an entire breach (with napalm or other support). I don't think raising damage on primaries is the only solution, they really need to take a look at magazine size and reload times. Hopefully the balance patches may make the game feel less clunky in that regard.
Everything has it`s own worth they could have made the decision to let you spawn with your heavy slot but you need to call it in same with the backpack it limits you but gives you a bigger base kit in return.
