Why can't we have more than 4 players in a group?

Every single coop game I ever played, people have said they want more players. For these type of games though, I think they become unstable with too many people in them. They need to be made from the ground up with large groups of players in mind, if they are going that way.

Because 3-4 players games are easier to balance, more player, more CPU juice required, with the amount of hordes on screen, imagine the netcode needed, maybe in the coming year 2050. Unless they they sacrifice graphics, make it look like a very early PS2 game.

I'm in favor of bigger lobbies, but I'm worried that their network will just crash and burn with it.

A mode with more than 4 players all calling in strategems at the same time would be funny for the first 30 minutes and then I'd never visit the mode again.
