Is it wrong to kick low level players (lvl 8~17) in helldive difficulty?
They hardly kill any mobs since they are under equipped, they throw their eagles or orbitals randomly, sometimes killing other players, they even sometimes shoot you (not sure if panicked or trolling) not to mention not doing any objectives

If you kick them just due to their level, then you are the issue

Is being lazy and expecting a carry not toxic behavior?
I've encountered plenty of low level players going for difficulties they aren't really prepared for and only a third have at least tried to be smart. Right or wrong, the fact of the matter is you need a certain array of the right stratagems for high difficulties (or even the mid ones) and if someone refuses to acknowledge that they're ill equipped or is too stupid to understand then why is that not toxic?

They're not inherently worse than someone at lvl 20 assuming they bring the "correct" stratagems.

It's not exactly fun having to deal with a player who's making everything harder either dickteeth. Why can't you have fun on a more fitting difficulty?
Or is your fun coming from trolling?

It isn't but at the same time, I can understand why. Anyone who hasn't reached a level that has yet to have a full arsenal of weapons and strategems do make things difficult but it isn't impossible without. Even a level 1 (Though their current understanding of the game is in BIG question) can be absolutely great as they are more relegated to crowd control duty.

I'm level 50 constantly being kicked because I play the objective and ask people to stick together rather than being killed 20 times. If you are level 15 and bad don't play high levels please
Obtuse Moose Mar 11, 2024 @ 11:39am
I mean, if they've even managed to reach that level of difficulty at that low a level they prob aren't bad players... I somewhat doubt you're talking from experience and are just assuming and saying that they play like that.
MoLi (ES/ENG) Mar 11, 2024 @ 11:39am
Im below level 20 and doing more dmg, collecting more samples and diying less than people with 20 levels above me. I mean give a try to some low levels they might surprise you

I was about to say you guys are di(ck)s but saw you were talking about highest difficulty.......id actually have to agree....as level 18....i need to gett some higher level sh(it) unlocked before id bother screwing with helldive difficulty.....

There's literally no reason for you to not be able to kick someone from your game.

It's your game. If someone took your gun then you're at liberty to be as petty as you want.

If it bothered them they'd make their own game. Since they don't, it's clearly not a big enough deal to them.

Deep Rock solved this by putting a 'I have my reasons' option under why you kicked someone.

Game's fun but you're not owed a spot.

If you're running a good loadout then you should be able to pretty much solo much of Terminid Helldive, assuming you don't get bugged spawns.

If there's 2 other higher level players then I don't see the problem with carrying someone, unless they're actively making you lose.

The games supposed to be fun, the main objectives are ridiculously easy to do 99% of the time so where's the point in kicking someone, you'll eventually hit a point where you don't need XP or resources because you're maxed so it's just fun to shoot things, which has no bearing on 'winning' or 'loosing'.

Pre-patch I hopped into some quickplay helldives with people level 7-10. They could hold their own, but also they were typically the ones triggering the most reinforcement calls, getting the most accidental teamkills or dying the most themselves.

I mean, it may not be the most useful, but the basic MG is pretty great at just clearing chaff and giving the teammates with AT the space necessary to do their job. The starting orbital strike has a pretty short cooldown, and is great for chokepoints or clearing some objectives quickly. The basic airstrike is pretty low level to unlock and has become something that almost never leaves my kit for how flexible it is. EATs and RR are also unlocked at something like level 5. So a very low level player could entirely be a contributing member of the team just with the gear they have available.

It's more about how they play, which is a lot harder to judge. Less playtime is at least a strong indicator they don't know as much about what they need to be doing, and I wouldn't blame you if you didn't want to risk putting up with it.

imo it's toxic to assume people will teach you the game on hard difficulties. If someone is low level, underperforming, and didn't have the courtesy to say something about their lack of skill pre-match, you aren't entitled to keep them around.
Ixerman Mar 11, 2024 @ 12:06pm
Well, I think it is wrong. But again is your decision. The objective of the game is to have fun, and even errors can be exiting ingame.
