You use it until you unlock the recoilless rifle, spear, or the railgun. Then you find out that recoilless and spear are extremely inefficient and use the railgun all the time. Spear is very useful for destroying buildings BUT when you have 5 heavies in front of you and only four missiles (that might not even bother to lock on), you got a problem.

If the anti-tank did more damage it'd be a decent choice for conserving ammo since it has a really short cool-down, but I saw a charger eat 4 rockets once, aim for the leg on chargers to expose a weak spot (but railgun is still better at this, even after nerf) instead of using the ANTI-TANK weapon to kill them. Hulks can be a bit random but it usually takes two shots to kill them before you need to wait another minute to get more AT, and when you have two-three hulks in front of you, that's a problem. So at the moment AT is highly lacking. It's pretty good against the automaton tanks and the short cool-down means if you die you don't need to worry about having to choose whether to get your weapon back or not, but I'd still suggest replacing AT with something else if you go difficulty 7 or above.

EDIT: Added more info.

Thanks i got it.
Its quite sad that 1 shot expendable weapon is weaker than always-with-you railgun, love the kaboom stuff.

you dont aim dead center with AT on chargers you aim for one of the front legs to blow off the armor and then finish it off with your primary weapon on the now exposed orange flesh

It's incredibly useful for taking down dropships which the railgun can never do. 2 Dropships is basically half of the reinforcements if not all of them on lower difficulty. It's basically a recoiless except you get 2 shots but 2 potentially rapid shots.

Well you get 2 EATs at once, and the cooldown is only 70 seconds. 4 people running EATs can blow up all of their problems all game, but nobody wants to do that

stupidly short cooldown, Support weapon you can share routinely, very effective armor shred, its basically a cheap skirmish Anti-tank weapon/support slot.

I always go, Arc Thrower, Laser Rover/or/Supply pack, EAT, Rail Cannon Orbital. with Light armor with extra grenades. really fun to play on Difficulty 9

Yeah, the EATs get slept on. They're really good, defensively, as you can call them down so frequently. They can especially make extract vs. the bots since you can smack dropships out of the sky.

I am aware you aim for the legs, but here is the issue. Why would I do that? Why would I EVER use a slow, harder to aim rocket to just strip off some leg armor when I could do the same thing with the much easier to use and efficient railgun? The rockets often require you to stop, crouch, and aim but you can snap shot the leg pretty easily with the railgun. So once again, the game fails to give decent reasons to use any of the other anti armor options over the railgun, only against the automaton tanks do spears/recoilless/AT do better against.

Also, shooting the leg is a dumb game mechanic. You can blow huge chunks out of the charger with the rockets/missiles, you can shoot it in the face and blow most of it's face off. BUT none of these will effectively kill it. The face still counts as armored despite being orange, fleshy, and partially missing after a rocket/missile shot. OH, but if you remove it's leg armor and mag dump it's foot, then it'll just keel over, cool, makes no sense but alight.

You can literally oneshot leg armor with EAT and then wonder where to spend the 2nd one

Just to reiterate: 70 second cooldown.
You can call down EATs just to shoot them at stuff for fun; you'll have plenty.

And this right here, ladies and gentlemen (cause there's only 2), is exactly why this game needs to be balanced. I'm a habitual recoiless user as I came from ENG in BFBC2/BF4. The rockets are OBJECTIVELY worse than the rail gun. There's no reason, once it's available, to use ANYTHING but the railgun as it's better in every single situation.

This is not fun. This is not variety. This is not going to have longevity.

There are three attacks that you can do with the eat. The first is to call it down on top of enemies. This can kill titans if you stick it on top of them. With a 70-second cooldown, it's a surprisingly strong titan killer even if it takes some practice.

As for the rocket itself, you get two. One shot of the rocket to a charger's leg can sometimes kill them in one hit but it will usually just strip their armor. It can one-shot hulks and two-shot tanks.

I used it a fair amount while leveling. It's basically an anti-charger weapon where you need to hit the claw to strip the armor and follow it up with a few blasts from your primary for an "easy" kill. The problem with it at higher difficulties is, first you're often facing something like 4 or more chargers at once and a single call in of two EATs just isn't enough firepower. Secondly, the time to call it in is a real hindrance. By the time the thing has landed, you're probably not anywhere near where it came down as either you or your buddy have been running around with your heads cut off try to avoid the charger until something arrives that allows you to deal with it. Thirdly, the charger will often run the pod down and you're hunting all over the ground for wherever the weapons are. You find it, finally, then chase after the charger and try to get a solid hit in on his claw. After all this chaos, you're now out whatever secondary weapon you run with when not carrying an EAT and have to go back and find it.

In short, good weapon but like many of the non-railgun anti-armor weapons it just takes too long and involves too much chaos to do its thing.

Also a great point. 3 Shots!
