If the anti-tank did more damage it'd be a decent choice for conserving ammo since it has a really short cool-down, but I saw a charger eat 4 rockets once, aim for the leg on chargers to expose a weak spot (but railgun is still better at this, even after nerf) instead of using the ANTI-TANK weapon to kill them. Hulks can be a bit random but it usually takes two shots to kill them before you need to wait another minute to get more AT, and when you have two-three hulks in front of you, that's a problem. So at the moment AT is highly lacking. It's pretty good against the automaton tanks and the short cool-down means if you die you don't need to worry about having to choose whether to get your weapon back or not, but I'd still suggest replacing AT with something else if you go difficulty 7 or above.
EDIT: Added more info.
Thanks i got it.
Its quite sad that 1 shot expendable weapon is weaker than always-with-you railgun, love the kaboom stuff.
Well you get 2 EATs at once, and the cooldown is only 70 seconds. 4 people running EATs can blow up all of their problems all game, but nobody wants to do that
stupidly short cooldown, Support weapon you can share routinely, very effective armor shred, its basically a cheap skirmish Anti-tank weapon/support slot.
I always go, Arc Thrower, Laser Rover/or/Supply pack, EAT, Rail Cannon Orbital. with Light armor with extra grenades. really fun to play on Difficulty 9
I am aware you aim for the legs, but here is the issue. Why would I do that? Why would I EVER use a slow, harder to aim rocket to just strip off some leg armor when I could do the same thing with the much easier to use and efficient railgun? The rockets often require you to stop, crouch, and aim but you can snap shot the leg pretty easily with the railgun. So once again, the game fails to give decent reasons to use any of the other anti armor options over the railgun, only against the automaton tanks do spears/recoilless/AT do better against.
Also, shooting the leg is a dumb game mechanic. You can blow huge chunks out of the charger with the rockets/missiles, you can shoot it in the face and blow most of it's face off. BUT none of these will effectively kill it. The face still counts as armored despite being orange, fleshy, and partially missing after a rocket/missile shot. OH, but if you remove it's leg armor and mag dump it's foot, then it'll just keel over, cool, makes no sense but alight.
>cannot honour its name
good thing they are gonna nerf the rest of the stuff
You can call down EATs just to shoot them at stuff for fun; you'll have plenty.
This is not fun. This is not variety. This is not going to have longevity.
As for the rocket itself, you get two. One shot of the rocket to a charger's leg can sometimes kill them in one hit but it will usually just strip their armor. It can one-shot hulks and two-shot tanks.
In short, good weapon but like many of the non-railgun anti-armor weapons it just takes too long and involves too much chaos to do its thing.
Also a great point. 3 Shots!
