GameGuard fatal error started today?
Was playing fine until today, game was choppy this morning so i restarted my PC to see if it would go back to normal. Once i did, i can no longer get back into the game. I am getting GameGuard error 114. Ive looked it up and can't seem to find anything that works. Has anyone else ran into this?

GameGuard: Initialize error. Try rebooting or closing all programs that might interfere and try again. Please contact support at (Their zendesk site) for further assistance. Error code: 114

Have you got any anti virus installed ? that's a common issue i.e. GameGuard being blocked by your anti virus.

yes virus software will block spyware/rootkits like gameguard

I only have Windows virus protection and malware-bytes.
Khloros Feb 12, 2024 @ 12:26pm
just another reason for them to move away from Gameguard

I don't see Nguard, or gameguard on the list of things to allow.

i couldnt launch the game before with same error code, setting game exe files to launch with admin privileges fixed it

Still no luck, have tried everything ive found other people mention at this point.

You need to find the executable files, search in program files and program files(x86) and add them as an exception to windows defender and malware bytes. Have you tried what FATE said above ?

have to run as administrator, had to make an exception in anti virus, have to constantly delete the game guard folder to play every day. 🤦‍♂️ Seems players with anti virus is all this thing guards against as i hear chines hackers hack just fine.

Yeah, i tried all of that. At this point, the whole Nprotect won't even attempt to start anymore. the game just goes straight to stuck on "Playing" and doesn't do anything. Have to shut down steam to close it, but that doesn't close it in taskmanager. Have to do a full restart to get all of them to close.

Check local files via Steam
It's a good thing Steam allows refunds without making a fuss, cause I would never have rolled those dice and paid for something that might not work because they decided the worst anti-cheat was good enough.

afaik, you're SoL like me and a bunch of others until the devs acknowledge it and maybe manage to make GG do something about it, or drop them entirely. Been troubleshooting this crap nonstop since yesterday with a bunch of different people, we've done everything under the sun and so far nothing's worked. And if one more person tells me to try turning off my antivirus or verify the integrity of the game files, i'm gonna have an aneurysm.

the exe for it exists, it just won't do anything when i try and run it. I just finished a full reinstall and it is stuck on "running install script" now.
