there, was that so hard?
Others can do it but require luck or precise aiming :
Cluster bomb needs you to be in a precise position to destroy fabricators
110MM targets nearest enemy and won't hit the hole if there's one around
All barrage strikes just hit at random
Orbital laser can clear entire camps if enemies come out and aggro the laser
Smoke and Gas strikes can close 1 hole if thrown directly in it
Precision strike can destroy a couple if close, but who would waste a stratagem slot for that
The easiest way is the grenade launcher, recoilless, autocannon or exosuit to destroy holes from afar, and the Spear for fabricators (autocannon also works, but requires specific aim to ricochet down the vents)
Eagle Air can hit multiple spawners in one pass if you land it correctly. Bot spawners are very easy to hit, bug holes it can be a little rough to hit more than one due to their angles and terrain protection.
When you level up your ship and are able to bring more 500 bombs those are good too. Basic airstrike is also good, yeah. Rocket Pods will def close bug holes if you can get them to hit. Orbital Laser will clear anything, but seems to target bug holes inconsistently.
Inconsistent targeting of bug holes is just generally an issue because you have to consider the angle of the hole, and the direction an eagle or orbital will come from.
It took me longer than I want to admit to realize that those vents were a thing. I used to always just stand in front of the door and wait for it to open.
But for stuff that required Hellbomb, 500kg should be able to substitute I think
And then even some support weapons can do it at range. If you aim at the vents of a factory, you can one shot them with an autocannon. Its kind of wonky though. You have to be basically on a level plane with the vents, or above them. Shooting from beneath doesn't work.
Bug holes are kinda the same way but since they are wider it's easier to hit the sweet spot, this is easy to see when you try to use impact grenades on them from an angle versus straight on.
DING DONG
*crackle* "Who's there *beep boop*?"
"It's the uh... live explosive delivery service, ma'am. Did you order the impact grenade thrown in the doorway?"
*crackle* "Yeah that's me, be with you in a second *beepity boop*"
I've been known to use the autocannon to clear them, just shoot in the vent or shoot in the bug hole and it's done
