The previous keybinds worked just fine in HD1, why'd they change the defaults if they don't even add jumping? Sure there's crouching, but the C key was rarely used anyhow, and in some games crouching is the Ctrl button instead even, so why put the menu there? Just to confuse people?
I guess modern executives think that losing customers to this garbage is cheaper than paying for professional testers pre-release.
Yup, started playing controller and I've been having a blast, zero issues except the multiplayer connectivity stuff.
I feel it should be the devs' responsibility to assume for lowest common denominator tools and equipment, especially since I saw Day 1 forum to be flooded with "this doesn't work" because they had membrane and didn't know, but despite thiat...
"losing customers to this garbage" is a very weird thing to say about something that they can't account for. It's clear (moreso on PS5 tbf) this game had rigorous testing since everyone I talked to at most ran into minor issues. Server issues are the only common thing, but this game also massively oversold what their infrastructure expected.
There are tons of issues on PC, to be fair, however the issue I'm describing in my original post that you're reacting to are *entirely* out of the devs hands and are due to people having ♥♥♥♥♥♥ keyboards and blaming others out of simple unawareness.
What's weird is I haven't had a single CTD despite doing tons of alt+tab shenanigans. My BF crashed once, and we both would DC as host upon starting a party mission, which seems to be a server-side issue.
Honestly, while it's not a great or even good launch, I'd say it's still fairly stable for a formerly small-scale team making a live-service-esque game
tho my only experience with live service aside from mmos is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ *Halo Infinite*, so my bar is fairly low by default.
That's part of the problem. Many *MANY* people still use membrane, and each membrane keyboard have specific combinations that don't work. I've had one that lets Ctrl+WASD work fine. I've had some that cut D and W, my current one only cuts out W.
It's such a unique problem that can't be accounted for aside from giving people accessibility options like the game's "Toggle Strategems" opt or bindings.
edit: all that to essentially agree with ya here, but pointing out that it's more common than many hardcore gamers realize, though it's literally unreasonable to make sure devs account for all this ♥♥♥♥ in testing lmao
