and my old post mentions this as well

if you played the free version on UBI connect just buy it on UBI connect , even if you buy the game ON STEAM its still gonna use UBI connect anyway .. its the default launcher and DRM for the title
When you play on GFN you do not have access to the steam folder so I can't shift files around. Oh well. I'll just get as far as I do in the game. Its a shame, if this free weekend actually worked I would have put it on my steam account.
As for not putting it on a Ubi account, sorry but I do not want to manage tones of accounts even though I know that steam gets a big cut... which is why Farcry 6 is not on Steam but on Epic and uPlay
also no matter what if you buy the title you MUST USE A UBI ACCOUNT ..its the default DRM for the game
sorry man if you want to buy the game ON PC your gonna have to make and use UBI connect its the default DRM and launcher for all far cry games past far cry 3
yes even on STEAM
WRITE DOWN THE EMAIL AND PASSWORD you use when you create any and all online accounts , and you should not have an issue
So here is my issue. GFN has all forms of DRM on Farcry 5. Ie. You have the option to play it on Uplay, Epic, or Steam. Now, to actually play the game you need to add it to your account. I added it to my Uplay account, booted it on GFN and the game worked. I added it to my Epic account, booted on GFN and Epic says I don't own the game. I added the demo to my Steam account, booted on GFN and Steam says I don't own the game. From what I can tell the free weekend was taken off of Steam due to review bomb flamers ... which I don't agree with since it was Free but I understand why it was done. This seems deliberate or at least incompetent for Ubisoft. I get that companies want to create their own launcher so that they can avoid Steam or Epic taking a cut but this type of stuff only frustrates people and doesn't make them want buy a product which is the ultimate goal at the end of the day.
With regards to writing an email or password ... most accounts use 2 factor logins and Ubisoft uses Google Authenticator as a means for its second step. I had this loaded on a tablet and said tablet broke. Even if you log in with the same email and re download the app on another tablet, you are up $***s creek if you can't find the codes to break the authenticator. I had this happen to an old Ubi account of mine and lost a few games.
i do not think they use the same file folders for saves .. for that you would have to contact them and ask
for steam the save file folder is also different from a UBI connect copy .. steam changes that .. and i do not know why .. but yes they do and have done so for every far cry game past far cry 3
for far cry 5 here is how save files work .. for steam as well as the UBI connect application
https://steamcommunity.com/app/552520/discussions/0/1697169163414496263
for GEFORCE now i have no clue as i do not use it .. nor would i wanna use a streaming service for my games
as you have no control over your files if you use a streaming service ..which is what GFN is
also you should write down any e mail you use as well as any passwords that you use for any and all online accounts .. so if you lost access to an old ubi account you can yes recover it ..its not UBI's fault if you failed to do so
but yes if you bought your games on steam you can recover your old account in many cases ..to do that yes you need to contact UBISOFT SUPPORT directly

Let me try to clear up some information.
1. GFN uses servers (virtual computers) to run their games. You do not have access to the drive which saves files. Steam, Epic, Uplay will upload your save files to a database, this is common practice and this is what is used to regulate a save file on a service like GFN. So tbh since Steam links to Uplay, I find it kind of stupid that Steam cannot pull the save file from Uplay.
With regards to GFN, I'm paying roughly $70 a year to gain access to a server which provides me with a 60 fps High/Ultra settings with RTX stream of a game with 30 ms lag on a wired connection. I'm more content paying $210 every 3 years and being able to play my games on just about anything that has a wired connection anywhere then $3000 for a new PC refresh.
2. You stated multiple times to write down any email or passwords ... well duh. The issue was that my account was locked out because I lost access to the 2nd authentication method which was through Google Authenticator. Any way you look at it, yes it was my fault but when I tried to get my account back, Ubisoft treated me like garbage. I'm not a fan of Ubisoft the company but I am a fan of Ubisoft workers that make their games.
