Is there a massive issue with controller support?

controller works now... kind of. DPAD doesnt work at all, so no binos, grenade switches, follower orders, etc...

I'm having this same exact issue but with a PS4 controller. Controller works fine, but gives me Xbox controller prompts and my directional pad isn't working at all in game.

Using Xbox One Wireless Controller and Dpad doesn't work nor can you reverse while in a vehicle as left trigger doesn't seem to work in the vehicle.

Please fix this soon. Would like to use binoculars and stuff and be able to drive in reverse. Thanks

also have this Xbox One controller. Using the classic driving controls I can't reverse. If I choose shooter driving controls I can aim with LT but the Dpad won't work on either setting. I also tried this on a steam controller and it has the same issue.

The instructions on this link worked to fix the issue with the D-Pad and the braking/reverse for me.
First verified game cache>
Connect you controller>
Then open big picture>
Click far cry 5>
Manage game>
Controller options>
Use steam configuration for non-steam Controllers>
Select (forced off) click ok>
Launch game. Now d-pad should be working.

Yup this works. You don't have to be in Big Picture mode when you launch the game, only when you do the steps to disable non steam controller configuration.

did not work for me my problem i crashed doing a major cutsence and now i can use the up dpad works in arcade mode but not story worked before the crash also

Still not fixed for me. Works fine when playing on the PC with the D-Pad but as soon as I try and use my Steam Link on the TV the buttons mess up again. Is there going to be a fix for this anything soon?

update for me its not only my controller its both my controller and keyboard i cant use the binoculars at all i can in arade but not storys i tried everything even talked to uplay and they said theres nothing they can do

None of us are trying to be difficult Ubi, weabsolutely love your games and want to support them and enjoy them. The possible fixes suggested aren't working for everyone, and we would like to know if there is actually a timely patch coming that is going to attempt to resolve the controller issues, so that we dont have to jump through multiple hoops to get even minimal uses out of the controllers.
Anecdotal sidenote on the importance of a controller for me: I was shot in the left hand while on patrol, and cannot manipulate my hand well enough to play with a KB+mouse. Any help or information would be massively appreciated!

Unfortunately, this fix doesn't work for the Steam Controller, as it requires Steam Configuration to function properly.

For now, this fix should work for most people, but I really think this issue needs to be addressed soon, especially for people using the Steam Controller.
