Yea, I got pretty good at evading the capture squads. It took me quite a while before I realized I was being railroaded into a story mission.
Mandatory story missions are OK on occasion. When you have somewhere in the vicinity of six or eight you are forced into, that just sucks. ESPECIALLY when the story is excruciating.
The fact that they can be evaded and fought gives me an idea.
If the next one is as annoying as the last couple have been, I'm probably going to use a trainer and see if infinite health puts a stop to it.
I tried the same thing and can tell you honestly: it depends.
John's capture squad it works. You have to die to trigger the mission. The other two it's scripted.
The issue is that you have MAYBE five minutes before another capture party spawns nearby. For those of us who want to play the silly game and not get railroaded into story missions, this is stupid.
I was out of patience with them after the second one, the third that stripped all my weapons and gear and made me re-buy it all, that's when I came here to post.
Two is too many of these, considering this was advertised as open world.
I get that but honestly, the missions you do when you get captured take 5 minutes max. Wouldn't it be easier to just "get captured" real quick, do the Mission and then enjoy the rest of the game? Don't get me wrong, I get your point and I wish they would have done that differently, but I think it would be better to "just get it over with" idk
This guy's post answer's your question.
That's what I do, but that's NOT what you should HAVE to do.
As I said earlier, it's OK when it's one or two times like it was in FC3. This constantly getting captured by the cults over and over again is dumb and makes me annoyed at the antagonists.
They capture the deputy many times over and utterly fail to do anything worthwhile with them. I can understand in the Whitetail mountains because you're getting captured and intentionally let go, but the other two people just make me feel like they're being really dumb.
EDIT: they also don't tell you whatsoever that you HAVE to get killed by the squad. I did everything I could think of to evade them and only found out after several hours of running around that they were supposed to kill me.
Alright, i guess you have a point
Just let them capture you already. It's part of the story.
You mess with their territory - you get these squads after you.
If you don't want them; don't mess with their territory - that in turn will make the game immensely boring, as you can't do anything other than hunting or fishing (pretty much).
TLDR: Just let it happen.. It's part of the story.. It's something like 3 times per zone. That's pretty much it.
