...but there are a few cross-platform games. Rocket League does it just fine.
Heck, even some upcoming ones (State of Decay 2, being one of them).
But in general; one should not expect cross-platform play. Most of the time, you'll just be disappointed.
But no - this game (FC5) doesn't have cross-platform play, as far as I'm aware.
Rocket League, Sea of Theives, Minecraft, State of Decay 2, are all crossplatform. Hell minecraft combines Xbox, PC, and Switch users on the same server.
