Its sad to see all these unique features that where hallmarks of the genre gone. For me those small bits of immersion are what I remember most of the Far Cry games.

Unless you have a 1080 ti, wouldnt it make sense to play FC2? Because graphics are really the biggest pro FC5 has over FC2. If you cant enjoy the graphics, best sticking with the one with better gameplay......

it's bad I know. But it didn't ruin the game if you adjusted. Go on foot, stay away from roads, use boats more

Ya, all this^.

Plus you can simply drive right through the outposts if you want to do something else. You are not "forced out of [your] vehicle." I ignored any outpost I didn't care to engage with zero problems this way.

aw please, 1080ti my arse, I play this on all ultra except shadows with a gtx 1080 on 1440p. A last gen 970 could run this on 1080p.

Mhm.. now I know why I liked fc 2 the most of all.

Far cry 2 was a really good game. I remember i bought it on release day and spent the next 3 days playing it non stop and completing it, still being the best game in the series imo. The only thing i didn't like about it was the constant respawning checkpoints.

How about best sticking with the one you enjoy? I think that's a big one. Far Cry 2 is a good game in it's own way, and it's the same with Far Cry 5.

That's how I played it, just made the game play the way I wanted it to play.

Sure, but that's how it is on Steam community.
Simply as there are much trolls around too which don't own the game anyways.

So people rather believe into posters with a mouse icon.

It's a free community indeed, but one hard to reason.

well to be fair that didn't always work, not on higher difficulties at least.
even if it didn't get you killed, your engine would be steaming by the time you passed the outpost, and you'd have another vehicle on your tail.

all those extra seats in cars always make me think how much better FC2 could have been with coop

To me, the fact bullets now have physics inFC5 makes the other ones very inferior to me. The magic ranges (after a distance, bulelts straight up disappear in FC2, FC3, and FC4) and the fact you can't lead with sniper rifles ruined it going back.

I can't snipe in older FC games because basically all other games have conditioned me to lead moving targets and youll miss if you do that in the older Far Cry's.

Plus, FC2 doesn't have hostile wildlife.

Hostile wildlife + bullet physics + Planes and choppers + coop > All the removed details from Far Cry 2
