A Glimmer Of Hope (AKA, I saved some mods.)
So, unaware of me, RelicNews has shutdown. All of the mods for Space Marine are now lost until reuploaded by respective people on other platforms.

It was saddening. As this game is considered a 40K Game jewel. So people who want to flavour up the game will sadly never get the chance to now.

However, I did some digging and found a copy of the game I had. In it was a preview file, meaning some mods are now saved. I have uploaded this file on my DropBox for at least a little chance of others doing the same for the mods they have.

It isn't much, but its better than nothing. Considering I just install the mods and know nothing on how they work, separating whats-what for individual mod usage is up to the individuals that know that stuff. I can only pray to the Emperor that some still lurk here. Meaning that you will have to use the mod as a whole package if you do not have said knowledge of how that stuff works. I digress...

Mod List (to my knowledge): Subject to change as I am repairing my gaming PC.

-Ultramarines Canon Mod: Makes Titus and his crew wear more lore abiding 1st Company-esque models to fit the strength of him and his teammates. This also gives everyone a helmet and changes Sidonus' bolter to a plasma gun.

-Bolter Canon Mod: The main bolter is now semi-automatic, and deals heftier damage. I believe the damage also affects the Stalker and Storm Bolters as well. Albeit without the semi-auto limitation.

-Power Sword Mod: The PowerAxe is replaced with the Power Sword instead. For a more lore-friendly Ultramarine experience. The PowerSword DOES have executions. But I believe has the same stats regardless.

-Power Fist Mod: The Thunder Hammer is replaced with a custom Power Fist model. Executions are included, similarly to the Power Sword mod, I DO believe it has the same stats as the Thunder Hammer.

For those who don't know, shove the preview file into your directory for SM. And create a shortcut using the -usepreview command. Obviously while using this, MP will be disabled entirely.

Finally, if there is anything I missed (as mentioned, I can't play it currently), please comment and I'll add it here if a detail is wrong or if a mod in the collection was missed, I had to base this off of memory.

If anybody has mods saved, please preserve them and upload them somewhere. RelicNews is gone, we should at least preserve the decent modding community SM had.

Thanks.

Unfortunately I seem to be one of the people whose copy of the game doesn't play nice with the armor mod included in the OP.
My only guess is perhaps physical copies don't play nice with armor mods, since mine was a physical copy.
I'm not asking for answers to why this happens by the way, I'm willing to just deal with Titus and the blueberries not wearing helmets like they should be. I just thought I should mention it might be the physical copies doing it.

EDIT: For those who wanted the armor but it didn't work, you might try "replaying" the chapter and just going back to the furthest checkpoint you got to. If you do that it should reload your body and have the armor mod working properly.

Thanks for making the thread OP, it lead to more than like 3 mods being easily downloaded for Space Marine.

I may have some mods saved. Relicnews now has a Facebook page and a Discord server, where there are still some of the old crowdd. Might be worth asking there too (or telling them that you've got this stuff saved incase any of them are interested)?

is there any hope you saved the mod where Titus wears a helmet?

I'm a bit confused. So I put the preview file on the game directory and set -usepreview on my launch options. Sure enough, it did disabel the MP

however, I'm still waiting for Titus to wear his helmet though.

Strange. I tried it today and Titus is wearing his helmet. I am not sure what the problem is. I am very sorrowful that I cannot help, considering I didn't make/manage the mods. I merely saved them.

Drag and drop the ''preview'' folder from the mod into the main folder for your game. Add ''-usepreview'' to the launch commands in Steam, then launch the game. No quotation marks in the command.

Wow! Thanks so much for posting this man. I have played through about half the campaign with all these mods...the helmets especially as well as the upgraded armor on Titus/Sidonus et al was my favorite thing about these mods. I had already played through the campaign 2-3 times so I didn't finsh and had deleted to make room, but thought about playing it again recently.
I had no idea the mods were now unavailable.

I have a few mods saved up - the Deathwatch reskin (a personal fave), lightning claws, flamer. That being said, I think the majority are still available on that Russian modding site.

Well first at the time, Relicnews shut down. And people at the time were scattering to find mods.

Second, Playground does not have all the mods that relicnews did.

I don't know why this topic, thats nearly a year old. Suddenly got bumped.

Paint the armor and take it from multiplayer is not a problem.
