No: To powerful against non-spitters, the majority of glyphids
The problem: it doesn't scale well with difficulty scaling
Leave it as is, without perks you're really slow on ziplines and spamming e to stop works
But that's literally all gunners did before the shields were added and it was strong but not broken. What are you getting at?
What makes one way of stopping more powerful than the other?
It's just convenience as far as I can see. A QoL change.
+1 from me.
This^
While spamming E, is possible currently, it switches your side back and forth on the zip line making it somewhat difficult to keep your orientation and stay on target.
I think it's pretty clear from the changes that have been made to the zipline and enemies over the updates that the dev's do not want us hanging out on ziplines fighting waves. So let's not make that any easier.
We're not advocating balance by inconvenience, we are saying; let's not buff a playstyle that we already know is unintended by the dev's.
Zip lines are for movement, not hiding on in order to negate melee damage.
Yup, and?
We don't want to disallow combat on ziplines entirely, but we don't want to encourage it either.
It should be an option in a pinch, if you have to get somewhere; not the preferred way to engage.
But sure, agree to disagree.
It's mainly for making mining from a zipline easier. Shooting is just as easy with or without it and even if being able to spam E, I'd much rather keep moving from side to side of the zipline anyway instead of hovering. It lets you get a better angle on grunt weak spots which means better ammo efficiency and lower TTK.
