Deep Rock Galactic
Rogue Core looks like a cash grab.
ngl it looks like you took drg and added barebones roguelite elements to it (and a couple of new weapons i guess)

I know im probably gonna get a bunch of "ItS aN EA gAmE bRo!!!" comments from the mindless bootlickers, but just know that I'm far from the only one with this opinion.

At least survivor tried to be unique, Rogue Core does not look promising, and the constant "what to expect" and "whats to come" videos and posts feel like damage control.

it looks like DRG was lightning in a bottle that they keep trying (and failing) to replicate).

This reads like you fed a bunch of recent post titles into an AI and asked it to generate a summary of community sentiment based on only that.
Also unfortunate that it will likely be where most of the development is focused for up to 2 years, so DRG might be left by the wayside in the meantime. Survivor was more of a side project by a different developer, but Rogue Core seems like Ghost Ship's next major project, even if it isn't DRG 2.
Considering how much of rogue core should have been a copy paste, and the three years of development it has already gotten

I have zero faith it will make a comeback

I genuinely don't believe it was in development for 3 years. I know game development is difficult, but the game looks like its 90% reused assets from DRG.

As someone who thoroughly enjoys roguelites and went in hoping the best for RC it was a slog getting through the playtest for roguecore.

I can definitively tell you that as a roguelite it falls flat and it certainly does not help that all the issues plaguing it right now are issues the developers were told about months ago and they effectively told the testers to pound sand.

Even if AI did write his post that'd be more effort than the devs put into RC.

There's a reason why the reviews are less than ideal. Hell even the so called "positive" reviews are actually negative if you stop to read them.
you know the amazing OG DRG came in EA as well also 'kickstarter' program earlier alpha stage gameplay and become most succsesor and amazing as it is now.

I dislike RC as well, we know they want money, "cash grab" as you said, is also spliting the amazing player base to 2 similar but different games + new discussion to talk with and about.

Just Think about if is come as dlc = less money, as RC come as spread new game = more money + more dlcs to their money collection.
as we know they (devs) will not remove the title DRG in RC (Rouge Core), so all we have to see it's progress while not playing it :-)

by look at it, I know they used the succsesor OG DRG + ideas and stuff from DRG: Survivor and added new stuff to it + Coop, in Rouge Core is PveVp (you fight the new monsters and the players who against your selection and stuff). New style, New Ideas etc...

Instead of "Dwarfs" (Drg) they "Recleaimers" (R,C).. there is a difference in adding +1 more class like is Overwatch game style.
😏(If we put "Deep Rock Galactic" in the title, it will sell well...)
"Ghost Ship Games creates DRG, Coffee Stain Publishing authorizes Fortnite DRG crossover. Fortnite players flood DRG, DRG destroyed by Fortnite players. Ghost Ship Games creates Rogue Core." - Dr. Ian Malcolm

"Rogue Core panders to the lowest common denominator...Coffee Stain and Ghost Ship abandon initial DRG players. " - Dr. Ellie Sattler
I really like the concept of it. As a rule I don't invest time into early access games. I'll wait for the full release. I think its going to be a great game to play along side DRG, but we will see in the future!
I'm glad to see people being vocal about it.

It is a shameful cashgrab indeed.
It's just poorly done.

I made a stink about the female dwarfs and tried to discuss that metric until I was banned for wrongthink, but there's so much to dislike about Rogue Core. From the mechanics to the classes to the voice talent... it's just not that great.

It's made the wife and I appreciate even more what a gem DRG is. It's apparent the studio, like so many, are only able to capture lightning in a bottle once.
cash grab
noun
plural cash grabs
: the greedy pursuit of an opportunity for making money especially when done without regard for ethics, concerns, or consequences
Not sure if you intended to use it in its intended meaning, or its just clickbait. But Cash Grab it most certainly isnt.
Developing games is not cheap, not without consequences.
Cash Grab means a company makes (promises of) something, quickly sells through badly informed or hype generated means... and then dips out never to finish to deliver what they promised. Scamming and misleading people with no regard for ethics, and making a new company name to repeat the process so they have no consequences.

Rogue Core might not be for everyone, but baiting people into hate does nothing positive nor does it give any results. You can grab pitchforks and torches, but if the thing you try to change never interested you in the first place... you just burn down something that does not effect you.

The developers have clearly stated they have no intention of making DRG2 as long as DRG is still popular.
They want to make new things that are not DRG, since they have been working on this game for way too many years.
God forbid Ghost Ship makes new games.

Oh the humanity.

God forbid the players want quality instead of just a watered down DRG with barebones roguelite elements that shields itself with the "its an EA game!" defense

Oh the humanity.

My main issue with rogue core is that it looks like a direct copy of DRG's gameplay but with roguelite elements stapled onto it. They advertise it as being "combat focused" when base DRG was already combat focused. They're clearly trying to lower expectations by saying it isn't DRG 2, but it definitely feels like they're trying to make a DRG 2.
