Lobby level requirements
For clarity, I'm referring to lobbies that put something like "lvl 500 + only" in their title.

Am I the only one who just reflexively says no to these rooms when I see them? I'm level 801 as I write this, and I don't think I've ever seen a room that has a requirement to high for me to enter, but I just feel like it goes against the spirit of DRG to put up one of these barriers.

Like I've seen level 1,000 + players on a bad day who just can't hit the broad side of a barn, and level 10 players do well after just a little bit of guidance.

Am I the crazy one here?

No, you’re not crazy.
Not Crazy.

I avoid lobby's with those kid of names, especially if it includes a 'or I kick'

I'm like rank 2700 or something, I've never joined a lobby with a level requirement in the title

Yeah, most of us actual vets avoid those servers like the plague.

Depends on the requirement. Having something thats like 100+ means that in order to join you have to have the majority of overclocks and a bit of experience, which I see nothing wrong with. Unless the cap is absurdly high I don't really care; Maybe it's against the spirit of the game but when youre playing on pretty high difficulties (5+ mostly) reviving someone again and again gets kinda old.
I can't think of a single time I've seen "level 500+ required", but I've seen stuff like "Silver required" when they're running H5+ with a bunch of modifiers like Extra 2, Aggro 2, etc. That seems reasonable to me, since I've had my fair share of annoying experiences with Bronze/unpromoted players ruining high-difficulty missions (once I witnessed an unpromoted Scout in H5 Sabotage drain literally all the nitra from the cave before we even got to the boss, because they died dozens of times and were continuously slurping down resups just to recover their health, leading to the team having no ammo left for the boss after a grueling 45-minute struggle to take down the power stations).

That being said, it's true that low-level players can outperform high-level players in many situations, particularly with regard to pure skill (the only real weakness of low-level players is their inexperience with finer game mechanics). People need to understand that experience =/= skill.

Stating explicitly in your lobby title that you think experience = skill demonstrates that the host doesn't understand how this works. It also suggests that they're the type of player to instinctively blame newbies when something goes wrong, which is toxic. A lot of the time, such players will completely ignore whatever THEY'RE doing wrong that could have led to the mission failing.

I avoid them also, even if I meet the requirements.

Nope because I never join those type of lobbies.
I own DRG on PS5, and it's interesting that they don't have titles like that for lobbies on that platform; user name only for hosts. That said, I play DRG mainly on PC and have never joined any of those elitist lobbies.
Yeah, no.
People who host lobbies like that I instantly avoid, or anyone that has oddly specific rules. The latter just kills my buzz.

i avoid but depends if it's haz 5 2222 or custom difficulty totally fair, the lobby i sometimes join is 500+ pretty chill guy.

Personnaly I barely can see those servers... or their requirements are so low that it doesn't really matter in the end.

And yeah... the rank is a little hint about the time spent in game and a general knowledge of the game mechanics.
In no ways it represent skills or how someone will use its brain matter.

But for those that don't have friends to play with on the regular.. it can be boring to never get synergy between classes.
After a lot of hours it can be normal to want to play with others that might be better at cooperating.
Some might also want to find long-term teammates without have to become a teacher.

Approaching level 1600 and have been playing since the release. Gated lobby requirements are a generally a big NO THANKS when I'm hunting servers. If the host is that uptight, they've probably got an itchy kick finger anyway and anyone that takes the game THAT seriously is probably not much fun to play with.

These days, some of my most exciting missions are hosting Haz 5s and EDDs with lower level players as they play their butts off. Get in, do your best, play your class and I'll res you 20 times if I have to. All welcome here.

Until DRG came along, I didn't realize how long it had actually been since I had been hooked on a game I could just go in day after day and have fun with rather than obsess over.

Facts.
there's no close lobbies to begin with. the level requirement titles aren't the ones you avoid. you avoid the cringe politic drivel or theatre kid slopnukes
