Chad prospector.
Prospector is way less bothersome but both events I personally won't miss much after the season ends just due to patrol bots being a huge annoyance
first of all using the node setup stage as an argument is kinda silly when it's not at all a challenge
second, hackc doesn't constrain you to a radius limit nor is it able to fail your mission directly and i think those two factors alone justify the difficulty. yes it's hard but you've got completely unrestricted movement and all the time in the world to set up. all the enemies the game can throw at you can't stack up to a well made arena
i'm sure you're aware that hackc doesn't have an "activation radius" but i find a lot of people tend to just stay close to it by instinct, which is fair, i did it at first because it's just muscle memory carrying over from salvage ops uplinks. but try and play far away from the robot
if all else fails just play gunner because he absolutely stomps this event. you've got area damage weapons, ziplines to hover over the enemy crowds with (they'll be too busy attacking hackc to pay attention to you) and shields to immediately restart the bot if it dies
as for the prospector... good luck if you're not scout. it always flies away through a gap the size of a pinprick and youve either gotta waste ammo getting up to it or sit on your ass waiting for it to come back
it's not hard, it's just annoying
even if leave it, swarm not leave you.
had a game crash with Data Deposit when 'team' doesn't care to continue the hacking pod and the bugs just coming and coming in quick waves...
is can be finish, just need some good fire power in hands and not engi nuke the hack pod and let is lose connection or driller c4... ah
already did some while bulk deto came but.. very rare.
about Prospector is a baby event game, yeah never failed it just kill 3 flying patrol bots and some shredders and just both engines.
if the prospector could shot on us and not just run away.. pretty better.
prospector also give some minerals lol, data deposit... just data cell.
Most random players can handle protecting Hacksey but chasing down the Prospector can break the teams herniated and arthritis riddled back.

Wait until that one happens with Bulk Detonator. It's pure lazy/forgotten design. You bring salvage-like event into to the game but you are not using salvage spawn mechanics.
There are annoyances with prospector too. There is already existing activating stuff at wrong time thing at pub play. Be it Korlok, Bet-c, Events. But you can avoid those if swarm happens (Bet-c is little bit slow). Prospector on the other hand, is not only requires 1 accidental shot to activate but also free roams. Good luck dealing with both swarm and patrol bots, the most annoying enemy in entire game. Just WHY design such thing (prospector mechanic).
It's painful to encounter it on Escort, Refinery and PE. I had so many instances people activating it right after swarm announcement. Even myself accidently did that sometimes. With all that AOE stuff avoiding is hard when prospector decides to fly low, close to dwarfs/base.
I left the biggest trolling of GSG at the end. Magma core geysers can activate prospector. Happened me twice on refinery mission and guess what? Timing was also perfect for it to stack with swarm.
but prospector never disappear just hiding or moving far away up or down.
hunt it down till you get your data cell.
But the prospector sometimes just turns around the corner while i am fighting a wave and spawn his strong robot friends which will sometimes break my neck in modded difficulties.
