either that or you can hop on a zipline and skip the crawlers all together for an easy win
if you don't have a gunner then the engineer can set up multiple platform bridges around the core stone, jumping between these plats constantly forces crawlers to chase after you a lot more reducing the threat, it's not as effective as just removing them via zipline but useful regardless, also LURE grenades or pheromones from scout can keep a lot of crawlers busy while you deal with the core stone
Freeze works best to keep them at bay
Of course, you can't really control enemy agro, so use CC a lot, keep moving, and pay attention to your teammates to help them if they get overwhelmed.
Other solution would be to kill the enemies faster than they spawn, but it requires a lot more of coordination. The first couple of kills will most likely be instantly negated by enemy respawn, but if you're really fast at killing them, you'll have a decent amount of downtime and breathing room before the next group of corespawns spawn again.
Excellent work.
