Bittergem - I think the Wiki is wrong/incomplete.
I just got over 1300 units of Bittergem in a (non-Solo I think) single player game.

The Wiki[deeprockgalactic.fandom.com] says:

Bittergem's "only use is to provide [Cents/Money] Credit". (Written with that Cents-in-the-Triangle symbol to make it clear what it means.)

But I'm pretty sure I got about 800 to 1100 extra XP for the Bittergem "Minerals Mined", which was a much more welcome bonus that just the silly cents.

Actually, I should have paid more attention, but I don't think only got a couple of hundred cents for minerals in the mission... so cents-wise, it was probably useless, and certainly less than gold. My guess in that a recent update changed how Bittergem works and the Wiki haven't caught up yet.

Update: Just wanted to say that I really like cute little rare things like that. Wish there were more, maybe some stuff that was even rarer and way weirder. Taking just a few seconds to spitball... maybe a "Overloaded Midas Glove" once is 2000 missions. Pick it up and then the next time you touch a mineral, all the Gold turns into Nitra, and everything else but Morkite and Shale turns into Gold, and every mineral deposit everywhere explodes leaving every vein on the ground as if it was already mined. :-) (And throw some bonus of the extra mineral on the ground too, just to make sure "it's worth it.")

I think you're going to need a little more evidence than "I'm pretty sure something happened" if you want to change the wiki.
So you are saying it was a bitter(gem)sweet experience...

No, hypothetically speaking, I could WANT to change the Wiki just because I want to change the wiki. Actually, I'd like it to read "You should hate Steam" at the top of every page, but I'm not expecting that to happen.

But I think I'm right about the Bittergem, so I'm expecting either someone to correct me or some people to agree and eventually get the Wiki Updated without any more effort from myself.

Kinda. The extra XP was kind of awesome, but was also hoping (but not really expecting) for something more creative... getting a new mineral type in our inventory would have been pretty awesome.

Bittergem gives 1 credit per unit, so 1,300 bittergem = 1,300 credits. Multiply this by your hazard level bonus. So Haz 4, with a 100% bonus, would turn that 1,300 into 2,600 extra credits. Gold gives 2 credits per unit multiplied by bonuses.

It shouldn't be giving you any extra xp. Looking at your mineral count tho, you have well more than enough minerals to get 800+ xp from mining. You get different amounts of xp for different minerals:

Gold/Nitra - 2xp each
Minerals - 4xp each
Aquarqs - 50xp each
Secondaries - 2 for dystrum/hollomite, 6 for everything else (per unit)
Bittergem - 0xp each

So, I'm guessing you just misunderstood how mining xp works and assumed it was all the same for each mineral, but some were worth more. And you only just noticed this now because you got a Bittergem and paid closer attention to it.

That's my guess, anyways.
It's a shame we didn't get a screenshot of deposited minerals just before Mission End vs a screenshot of End Reward Screen. Would have been able to verify that Bittergem almost certainly still works the same as it has, in just a few seconds of simple math.
Not that I would fault someone for not thinking to do that. I think that if you expect something to work one way you probably won't intentionally gather evidence on the matter until you see something that contradicts it and piques your interest.

I just ran a dozen open-cavern mission types and quickly scouted around for a Bittergem to try to get some hard data to process, but with a roughly 4% spawn chance on the damn mineral I lost interest relatively quickly. :P

Well first of all you're using the outdated wiki. The fandom wiki has largely been abandoned in favor of a new domain;
https://deeprockgalactic.wiki.gg/wiki/Deep_Rock_Galactic_Wiki
But the bittergem page there doesn't say anything different (I checked). I'd still want more evidence before any changes are made though.

Should have also took a screenshot of the result screen.

Does that include collecting additional/extra secondaries after the quota is met?

Bittergem does not in fact give 2x1000 minerals XP mined

Killing a Korlok Angery Salad does give about 4000 XP on haz5, however.
