Confusing stuff about Promotion

I saw things that implied that there was no downside to promoting as soon as I can, but I'm but confused and concerned.

I get it that stuff that I unlocked/bought will probably be unaffected (right?) but what about the Stuff that is currently UNLOCKABLE at Level 25 but wasn't unlockable at Level 1?

Does the Promoted-level-1 count as a superset of the Unpromoted Level 25, or is there stuff that requests a Level-2 or higher to unlock that woudn't be unlockable again until I make it back to the higher levels post promotion?

I guessing the non-cosmetics are under "Equiptment" (and maybe "Drone") and the Cosmetics related to this are in Wardrobe and Shop. (Did I miss anything?)

As you may have read, there's literally no downside to promoting. You keep everything. You retain access to everything. You simply reset the red number back to 1. That's it.

Your first promotion unlocks the ability to activate machine events and begin acquiring overclocks and other cosmetics from cores used in the terminals at the machine event. Promoted dwarfs also have access to Deep Dives and Elite Deep Dives.

Anything beyond the first promotion is just for bragging rights, and to continue increasing your overall blue rank. Some assignments that reward certain cosmetics only unlock at higher blue ranks, so continuing to promote allows you to reach these special assignements.

Promoted level 1 should allow you to purchase any Unpromoted level 25 upgrades.

Otherwise, when they add new stuff, people wouldn't be high enough level to immediately buy/unlock everything even though they are promoted multiple times?

I definitely took my time buying all the cosmetics/upgrades and they were never level locked for any of my promoted classes

You only benefit from promoting. After the first 2 promotions on each dwarf, there's basically no point to doing it anymore. Past bronze, you're just promoting for fancy borders and bragging rights.

And for player level 100 so you can do the assigments that gives you some cosmetics.
