About "realistic" mineral vein exploding.

At first I though it was fine as a driller who use carving charges so the minerals just falls into the pit I just made. But after doing my core weekly escort mission, what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pain in the ass. Most fuel veins are off the ground on the walls, even if I have carving on my charges the carving isnt big enough to make them fall in the carved ground. For veins in the air instead of just falling down and have a few chunks spread when hitting the ground now they fly all over the place. Having carving charges was an advantage on escort missions, much faster refueling, but now its pointless. I cant imagine drillers who mines every veins with epc, must be so annoying. At some point realism in games just gets annoying.

It has nothing to do about realism, in fact some argued it's less realistic now.

It's a matter of balance. EPC was considered OP (or rather game/teamwork ruining) by a lot of players, so they nerfed it in a way that is honestly very tame. I don't know if it affected C4 and if any change to it is intended though. And i don't know if you're refering to C4, EPC or both but...

They barely made mining with EPC any worse though, it's just a tiny inconvenience. If you knock a whole oil shale off the ceiling it's still gaining time. But you aren't supposed to mine out oilshale anyway, that's only if it's very hard to reach or to gain time before the drill stops/teammates reach the oil shale.

Also, you have drills, use them. You can easily reach the oil shale on a wall or ceiling and dig around it. People keep acting that EPC was nerfed because it trivialize Scouts, but honestly it trivialized drills more if anything. You're a driller, not a gravity bender.

Anyway, you're overreacting, it was warranted and it's not that bad. It takes a couple seconds more to gather the chunks, big deal. I was honestly not in favor of an EPC nerf, but complaining about such a minor change is so petty to me. Unless there's another unintended bug we don't know about.

Wth are you on about? In the game they call it satchel charges so I said charges not c4. I only talked about me using charges with the carving upgrade nothingelse, I dont use the epc, nor did I ever said I couldnt reach the fuel veins. Stop assuming things I never talked about. When using charges to blow veins the minerals fly everywhere just ike epc. If anythings petty its the crybabies who wants to keep epc mining instead of letting the scout do his damn job. But you know the devs would never get rid of it since too many players would cry about it.

I agree, though you can't say that infringing on scout role plays a part in nerfs to it. At least SOME of the devs agreed that it was overstepping there.
