Wait, you're not supposed to jump through the Barrel Hoop?
(only works for single player, other players in a multiplayer lobby don't seem to get the effects on a mission)
"Oy, scout. Pull my finger."(it makes you fart and has flies follow you).
Like a lot of recent additions to DRG, it's mainly cosmetics and for laughs and has no effect once in-game. Development time could have been spent far better, such as on the addition of boss battles/alternative dreadnought subtypes.
Normally I would agree.
But this is a dwarf game, getting drunk is mandatory. What I would do is make the gag beers have a smaller and weaker effect than the special of the day.
Like, 10 extra health, 5% speed increase, 10% passive stun chance(all weapons). Stuff like that. Then you can stack a special of the day with a lesser brew to boost yourself. Plus you would have a reason to drink them other than just for the laughs.
Oh and passing out and or drinking leaf lover gets rid of the bonuses(you have to balance your booze intake to get benefits WITHOUT being too drunk to operate).
I LIKE the system, but it could be better.
God forbid anything is just for fun, and doesn't stimulate any skinner box progression dopamine drips for you.
Remember when video games were about having fun? Pepperidge Farms remembers...
I bet he has this suit around somewhere.

The beers are fun.
Once. After that, I've pretty much ignored them as they provide nothing substantial to the game.
I agree with Twinkletoes. At its heart, collecting stuff for beers is a decent mechanic, but they should have some kind of in-game effect instead. Perhaps even give you penalties, adding some %s to the bonus multiplier at the end, being a way for you to tailor your DRG experience to your tastes.
As it is, I am deeply unimpressed, although they ARE admittedly amusing. Once.
