Screenshots are setup within SteamVR and not as part of the game.
It's supposed to be as hands on and intuitive as possible with progressive learning ingame for what is not by observation, reasoning with trial and error on experimenting with the environment and actions.
Because that is one of the points of VR, you are 'there' with your 'body' [in this case hands]. Other than that, I am also saddened by the fading of instruction manuals that prepare you for game mechanics with the better ones holding neat tidbits for lore and other light reading to hype you up while its installing.
Had to check a walkthrough in the end to have it explained that the hologram was an interactive puzzle! Such an idiot.
