Instruction Manual/Guide Missing
How can a game like this not have a manual included? So important, and groundbreaking, why not put some effort into the documentation? It's all digital anyway, so no cost for printing, only for designing!

First they came for our physical games, now there's no documentation whatsoever! I know the community can answer questions in place of a manual, but this should not be expected. For example, I wanted to look up how to take a screen capture. This may not have been in the manual anyway, but it should be a resource available for reference, especially for a game we've been waiting 13+ yrs for.

Agreed. An instruction/reference manual is critical. The user doesn't want to have to setup their headset just to find out if a feature is available (e.g. how to teleport backwards).

Games don't have manuals these day. They usually have discrete tutorials (e.g., click "Tutorial" on the main menu and get walked through the basics in a step-by-step manner) or organic tutorials (i.e., you start playing the game and get pointers here and there). This game has organic tutorials.

You just pay attention and the game itself will tell you everything you need to know.

Screenshots are setup within SteamVR and not as part of the game.

Aside from meta interactions, inventory and locomotion [which the ingame hint system keeps telling me how to jump off a ledge no matter how many times I play through and want to be on the edge of it]

It's supposed to be as hands on and intuitive as possible with progressive learning ingame for what is not by observation, reasoning with trial and error on experimenting with the environment and actions.

Because that is one of the points of VR, you are 'there' with your 'body' [in this case hands]. Other than that, I am also saddened by the fading of instruction manuals that prepare you for game mechanics with the better ones holding neat tidbits for lore and other light reading to hype you up while its installing.

The only thing I had to look up was the first container/hologram puzzle thing (outside the gates to the Quarantine Zone). I couldn't figure out how to open the gate. I realised I probably needed an object of some kind, and hunted everywhere in the area for it over and over again. I did check the container, but thought the hologram which appeared was showing some kind of map or something.

Had to check a walkthrough in the end to have it explained that the hologram was an interactive puzzle! Such an idiot.
