Ridiculour Power Cards
I've encountered some very ridiculously powerful cards in this game. But any card that can deal 20 damage to your HQ, regardless of the caveats involved in playing such a card, is a RIDICULOUS card! I've been annoyed by an onslaught of Air Blitz, Bismarck and Japanese kamikaze cards. And I'm not a fan of any card that can be played to deal direct damage to the HQ. The strategy involved is basic and unimaginative. But whatever that stupid British card was that dealt that much damage, is just frustrating and annoying. And if I haven't said it enough already, RIDICULOUS!

There are no "I-win" cards in Kards. The knowledge how to counter certain cards and strategies comes with experience. The Common Wealth is a perfect example for an excellently balanced high risk - high reward card. You can counter it in (at least ;-)) 7 ways:
1. Don't let your enemy get to 30+ base hp.
2. Increase your own base hp to more than 20.
3. Make him discard the card from his hand.
4. Make him discard the card from his deck.
5. Increase the cost of the card to more than 12 kredits.
6. Play a counter measure that counters orders.
7. Play a unit that makes your HQ immune to damage.

i've had The Commonwealth in drafts a couple times and getting the health of your HQ above 30 hp still didn't trigger the 20 HQ damage effect. It's just one of those cards that have a very specific requirement to activate a second effect as every single time i've seen that card one shot an HQ was when the user's HQ was at exactly 30 hp.

This sounds pretty strange to me. Maybe the other player had a unit on the board that prevented his HQ from taking damage.

I have the commonwealth, I think it's a pretty useless card. Quite hard to get your HQ above 30 and keep it there, if you can do that basically you are already winning. I wish I had another elite.

I think it's even gold.
