KARDS - The WWII Card Game

KARDS - The WWII Card Game

new player: what expansion is the best to start with?
I have played a few days and have enough Kredits to buy about 8 packs and was curious if there was any specific expansion considered 'must have' over the others when selecting which packs to purchase. THanks.

Base Deck is pretty solid. It's a safe bet. Most cards there are good to start with. They can help you get a solid idea of the game without being too rigid in what they are used for.

Allegiance adds two new ally factions, Italy and France. Pick this if you plan on trying to use them. France focuses on 'Resistance' and 'Mobilize'. Italy's is 'Alpine' and 'If you are winning, great! If you are losing, not so great!' They do include more cards for majors, but the main focus is the new side-kicks.

Breakthrough is the newest installment. If you want the 'research' cards for free this is where you would find them. It also adds mechanics like 'Pincer' for some cards. There are good cards in here, but they can be a bit focused on a specific situation.

Draft is a noob trap. There isn't anything to really lose (...actually there is if you are paying for it, gold or otherwise), but chances are you won't get anything extra. It's honestly just frustrating to play for me and feels cheaty...even if I know it isn't. You're better off saving the time to buy a pack instead.

Thearter of War Campaign is...shallow as far as actual game play, but the rewards are guaranteed. Pretty nice sets of cards that you don't have to hunt around for. The Choose Your Own Elite card being one of the best ones you get out of it for all five majors.

The draft expansion is the best expansion.

for a brand new player? That seems like a bad idea until someone is more familiar with the mechanics of the game, doesn't it?

The best value is the campaigns. Recommend playing them in this order:
Brit
Japan
USA
Germany
Soviet

Definitely base game packs for 10 gold. As Lost Latios said above, draft is a trap, allegiance and breakthrough is useless for newcomer.

IIn the game menu (cards), you can select each expansion from the rollet menu and click the "show all" option. You will see all the cards you are missing in white and you can think it over before you decide.

Base for sure. once you have most of the standard cards swap to base officer backs.

And what about "The Welcome Offer" which can only be bought in the ingame shop comparing to the "Starter Pack" which can only be bought as a DLC on Steam?

Isn't the "The Welcome Offer" way better than the "Starter Pack" although it costs the same? I don't get it how to start with this game, too.

Druppi, don't think that purchase of starter pack or welcome offer (which is better in comparison) will mean anything significant for your success in Kards. It means nothing. If you spend 5 hours in playing, you will probably earn gamecoins and packs equal to this offers.. And for free. Don't get me wrong, I love this game (700 hours), I only want to say that to have or not have X packs means absolutely nothing in Kards.

I don't know man. It takes 90 wins to get 30 gold to buy 1 officer's pack. And you never know what you get from 1 pack. It might be useless. I don't think you can earn that much by spending 5 hours on playing.

first win of day earns 2 gold qnd dailies earn around 5

so everyday i have 3 wins earns me 2+5+1=8 gold

that's 12 wins for 32 gold so an officer pack and 2 gold leftovers.

I'm not counting what you get from national progress on top on that.

I feel i get less that i used to get with the old system but saying you need 90 wins for a single pack isn't honest.

I only won 1 game in 1 hour now because I only get lieutenants and AI as enemies and they have cards that destroy everything. These are all special and eilite cards and I don't know how to get them besides needing tons of gold to buy officer's packs hoping they are inside there. And I have no daily mission I could make. :O Maybe I'll get one tomorrow.
