KARDS - The WWII Card Game

KARDS - The WWII Card Game

Gold Cards and why you should avoid them
Never EVER convert anything to a Gold Card. Contrary to what has been said everywhere, it is NOT purely cosmetic.

When you get a Gold card, let's say from a standard you already have 4 copies from, you now have 3 copies in normal and 1 in gold. Here is the catch:

1 - If you get another copy (a 4th normal or a 2nd gold) you cannot use all 5 of them on a single deck, this is what people are discussing in being only cosmetic as it doesn't break the card's tier limits per deck; HOWEVER

2 - you just screwed up your future card pack's duplicate protection. you see if you have all possible copies of a card, the random generator wont send you a 5th because you cant play it and it gives you only those you are missing. UNLESS you have a Gold, which opens up the possibility for more duplicates to come (opens up another set for the same card which you will not be able to use anyway), and so you are getting REAL duplicates you were once protected from getting. This is intentional, to slow down your collection progression

NEVER EVER spend anything on GOLD CARDS. Unless you have every card and just want to open up the possibility to actually get useless duplicates

But... but... Gold cards are so shiny. *_*

Na, you're right. Gold cards are basically a second card collection, independent from the "normal" one.

There will be a point where you have enough of everything so that it doesn't matter. I converted my favourite deck entirely into gold because I don't have anything else to spend my gold on. But up to that point you should avoid it, true.
