Bolster the ranks seems pretty broken.

When coupled with stand fast. Stand fast is already pretty strong on its own. Bolster the ranks gives it a HUGE buff.

Just played a game where my opponent had an 11/11 (0 operation cost) by turn 4.

Guess I'll be running sudden strike more often.

It's a three card combo that is, as you said, vulnerable to hard removal.

I had an opponent do that combo on the 6/6 4 op cost blitzing US infantry unit, making it a 20/20. I mind controlled it and one shot him.

Probably a good idea. Removals are usually cheaper than multi-card build-ups.

Most people run Death from Above now bcs it's often a turn 4 play and you can just kill it also it's slow in play

It's also good with shiden. Should maybe raise the cost to 4.

i enjoy the low number matches much more then the High Number Matches.

It´s s nice to have a +1 Attack Boost oder +2 Defence witch a Order or a Unit brings on the Table.
You can react to these Events even if you have to Sacrifice your Units.

But this High Number (Like the TE said) are broken.
In this case you do not Face a Panzer Regiment, No its a Stone-Golem from the Marvel Universe that can only removed with a special Crystal found in Icy Cavern.

It's not just bolster the ranks. There are now many face damage combo's that is broken (no counter play) vs any slow decks.
I remember when people complained about brits doing 20 face damage combo, but now these face damage combo's is broken vs lot's of decks.

I encourage player's to abuse these face damage combo's (balance problems not players fault) because increased popularity and devs will hopefully nerf it as with new cards this imbalance will get worse for sure.

These nations have an abundance of alternatives. The Dagger Strikes and Lion for a Day are two italian removals that are commonly played and useful in about any matchup (even against japanese aggro decks that often run high attack fighters to close the game). La Decima also works of course. Germany can use Flammpanzer, Sudden Strike, Tip of the Spear or Flying Bomb if the unit is cheap enough. You can use Pummel on it which suppresses it first and then damages it (usually that destroys it because the suppress means all the buffs are gone). Admiral Hipper and Wolfpack bounces it to the hand. Annihilation doesn't care how strong it is. Suppression (the card), well, suppresses it, shrinking it to normal levels. Envelope and A Bridge Too Far can kill it.

So, don't tell me there is nothing you can do about it if you ever encounter it. I haven't seen this in months. I can't even remember the last time I saw Bolster the Ranks being used for anything lately.

Unbalanced face damage combo's will kill you in one turn. So there is no real counter play as players can't play one single removal card etc.
So all this talk about removals is irrelevant.

There is unbalanced combo's and there is balanced combo's. As I said, I hope the unbalanced combo's will increase in popularity so devs nerf it.

Players abuse any combos they can find since the beginning of the game. No need to point that out unless you mean some very specific combos. In that case, naming some actual cards might help.

Btw, this thread was five years old and in deep slumber before it was reopened.
