KARDS - The WWII Card Game

KARDS - The WWII Card Game

mulligan cheating?
I'm not sure how well cheat protection is deployed in this game. I've seen a few odd things but today I had a starting situation where the 'mulligan ended' message happened immediately - within a couple of seconds. I hadn't even had the chance to review my cards. Anyone else seen this?

It doesn't look like a bug and I don't follow the game production much, I just enjoy playing it. Don't eben want to be top dog, just its a good strategy game but stuff like this destroys my strategic options.

Anyone else got this problem or can tell me what I can do to avoid it it was on my end?

I have not seen that one yet but now you have said something I will watch for it. Couple things , ONE please do a Swan ask and post a ticket for this. It will make a difference . Two when ODDITIES as this occur always get the name of your opponent, and I dont mean because they may be cheating, but it helps them look up your match up easy, grabbing your local time and enemy name is even better and include both in your ticket on these events.

did you notice a longer than normal load into the match UI after you selected your deck by any chance ?

Thanks for replies. Sorry for my ignorance, what is a Swan ask? In terms of the other suggestion, I am used to noting opponent names and other details, and even recording games to report issues if I know there is something to worry about and I need to prove it.

Unfortunately on this occasion I was unaware and didn't expect an issue, so I didn't have any recording on, and I cancelled the game quickly after the mulligan issue and then (forgot to mention this) I also had my time cancelled on the next round for choosing cards. Mostly in case there was a security risk other than just a potential cheat.

Anyway I am not making a big deal, I accept it could be a bug also it's just that it seemed a bit specific.

I will record from now on if I am worried but it is a shame that I would have to. I just like this card / strategy game, wasn't expecting to need to have worries. I mean I hardly even do this (comment on Steam)

Yes and I am very sorry, I should have read my post before hitting POST COMMENT but I was in a hurry at the end as I was burning my lunch I had in the oven.

A swan is the name of the person that first replied to your question. If you look you will see his name is..... Maj. Boyd "BIBLE" Swan .

The reason foir my asking you to get name and time is not for anything related to cheating, but because the huge number of games having to be filtered and parsed to find a given one. Having the opponents name and a close time estimate allows the dev team to rapidly find your game and get right into finding out what the issue is. Its simply easier on the person doing it if he has this info and it saves HUGE amounts of that persons time over the average work week that is better used to help get a fix for any bugs deployed.

ok i'm a bit clearer maybe and thanks again for all your advice.

I was questioning whether there might be a a cheat going on only because it was literally something I wasn't expecting but seemed weird: I've seen lots of stuff which I expect with early access testing and such but this complete removal of the mullligan time, and also the timer for the next round made me just quit, and then also restart my computer.

I accept it might be my over-cautious and also it might have just been a glitch but I exited immediately for my PC safety and didn't mote the names or make a recording. What I meant in my earlier message is that i am used to having to do so in other games, not meaning this one.

This is the first time I've genuinely felt this might have an issue worth asking about. It just seemed like something that shouldnt happen.

I will start taking notes and recordings of this game so I can help better if there is a problem, than this OP did

I can not say if its a exploit or a bug , and I hesitate to guess because ive yet to see it myself and ive seen many of them, not that one though. It , honestly could be either or.

One thing have to consider is it most likely happened to your opponent too, UNLESS you loaded slowly and he was waiting for you client to sync up and arrive ion the match. CHeat I would say has a LESSER chance in this case as it would almost have to be tied to your opponent emplying a second one that somehow allowed him to place the cards he wanted to have in his hand before the match went live and started. Reason I say this is, is it not a huge advantage to him to simply take the first cards he gets on the draw at start of game and somehow manipulate your time to do so as well.

He has as big a chance at that point of getting a bad draw, if not more than you do. Its possible that it is though and it is set up for you to go first and that makes it even harder on you as you get less amount of cards and also no chance to pick a mulligan card or two. I am honestly going to say that its a bug, but until devs reply to you, its is really anyones guess as to which. The cheating issue is linked to a general issue in most cases to client to client syncing and is KNOWN to the Dev Team and they are working on potential fixes , just so you know its not being ignored.

Why would we consider that? he spammed chat as it happened. Anyway I wasn't trying for an intellectual chat about possibilities, it was just a weird thing I thought worth asking about. As was originally said, i should have noted the player name and the time or have been recording. next time, i will.

FWIW I noticed nothing unusual about the load-in time.

I concede it could well be a bug i suppose but as an experienced gamer it just didn't sit well - as mentioned in the OP I'm used to and accepting of glitches and inconsistencies in this (cool) game.

I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with the term "mulligan ending". Explanation?

Mulligan ending means time to pick your cards you wish to change out at the start of game is over or ending, time is running for the decision on that. I looked for where I out it couldn't find it.

It would not shock me one bit if it was a exploit as there is WAY to much of thast going on right now, and I see it all the time. I take video, like you and afterwards if they cheated or used exploit I file a ticket with name of my enemy and time of match and upload the video to google drive and give the support team access so they can watch. This helps them fine the exploit itself easier and lets deal out what the feel is proper to the player. WHich really, at this point needs to start being life time permanent BAN if its with intent, some cases are not intentional but most are.
