Go to a tent and sleep for 6 hours.
Sleep every three ingame days to avoid fatigue.

You may have to build one. Yeah no big sleep is also the simplest way to get rid of status effects.

Drinking water or eating soup will also fix it.

Yeah I jsut started playing it and I had an issue where I got the bleeding status but it was before you could even build a tent and I cured it... only to realize i had it in two places but I only had 1 med for it. Had to basically wait for it expire on its own. It's a learning experience as you go.

I'm sure once you are are all maxed out it doesn't matter as much but the most important thing early on is not to get hit period. Study the animations on the zombos so you can read their tells or just do what I do and try to find a high place I can climb so you can poke them to death with your spear weapons.

Just stealth or walk from as many as you can. You don't have to fight most of what you encounter and it just slows you down which is huge in the early game when you are low in resources.
if you can craft a tent sleep it off otherwise check your posessions they start you off with three of every medical item
