In this mission status report shows you have 8 TASM and 8 TLAM, I think I can not choose. I only see in the map a red icon in the land, should I press space bar and aim directly to that red icon? I tried to do as tutorials suggested with UGM aiming some space before the ship but with the land icon but didn´t work. By the way, TASM is supposed to work with ships?
Submarine can carry a lot of VLS (Vertical Launch System) missiles such as those TLAM and TASM. If you got this mission all you have to do is to go to that port location and go to Periscope Depth (50 ft) then launch it from there. You have to manually press reload the VLS by using R key and then repeat until you get 8/8 strike complete.
Note; Make sure you put your cursor before the target port so the TLAM will go directly to the port as it sorts out its sensor by itself.
The secret victory conditions are to land a certain number of TLAMs within a hidden zone centered on the port. If you recon close emough you can see actual buildings but you don't need to hit those, just the general area. (It's 1984 not 2022)
There's a hidden number of TLAMs you need to hit with. It's not all you carry but nearly all. So don't fire on a path near surface ships that have good AAA or anti-missiles. If more than about one TLAM is shot down you will lose the mission.
And of course there is no AAR debrief to tell you why you failed the mission. Or for that matter, how you succeeded. Bad briefings and bad feedback are of the weaknesses of an otherwise very good game.
