If you watch anime you'll realize that there is an increase of ♥♥♥♥ anime with incest theme. But in this game they play it safe, because they not related by blood.
While its acceptable in anime/manga crowd, i dont think its acceptable by your regular japanese.
Is it? I'm aware of most kids having a brief "I'm gonna marry mommy/daddy when I grow up"-phase, but that's generally when they're in early elementary school and they grow out of it long before puberty sets in. Elise is 15 and already at the age where she'd know about the birds and the bees. If Elise was 10 years younger, her crush on her brother would probably be cute instead of awkward.
I don't have any issues with them being affectionate and I'm among the people who thought the scene between them early on in Cold Steel II redeemed her to some extent, the weirdness comes from the fact that she and the rest of the game very much treat her attitude as something with romantic overtones.
Don't worry, you can have her, I'm fine with never seeing her again :)
I heard so many things about Sweden I actually had to go there to see which ones are wrong.
i grew up with my childhood friend so if i have feeling for her/him im an incest too ?
I think the Trails series has no shortage of this stuff unfortunately. The plot and world-building are great, but the actual writing could be better at times.
Which is a weird contrast to the overall great world. If you take the "I love mah bro" out the equation, it still continues the story perfectly. You wouldn't even have to remove the character of Elise.
-She's friends with Alfin and they go th same school - great!
-She misses Rean so she wants to visit him - great!
-His future plans make her really sad and she cries - great!
It just adds nothing to the story or plot that she's in love with Rean. Her not being a fighter is good because it does build tension and conflict in one chapter.
So i'm not debating the related-by-blood nonsense but the reason of it really simply being there in the first place. Because, sometimes the growth and writing is really good (Estelle) and then other times it's trying to be an anime bubble. So the writing seems at odds with itself to some extent.
That's certainly an interesting way to look at it. By that standard Childhood friends being close or romanticly involved would creep people out as well.
Ahaha. That's certainly the case. To be fair, thats often the case between people that spend a lot of time around each other. Cliche or not.
Well the same holds true for atleast half of class VII. Doesnt make her a terrible character tho. She hasn't had much time on the screen yet, so it makes sense she's considered a ''terrible character''. Emma for example was a terrible character earlier in the game as well. Stuff actually happening fixed that.
If it does end up adding something to the game, I'm sure people would complain about ''omg the story is too incest focused'' instead.
