What's the point of playing this entire game if my party can't interact with the chests??

I'm being facetious here; this game is still fun. But that all the treasure chests from previous games all had something funny, insightful, or meta to say in comparison makes the Cold Steel chests seem so lifeless...like what a treasure chest is supposed to be like. The talking chests was icing on the cake detail to such a standout creative game. Who'd've ever thought of that detail but Falcom??

Maybe I'm missing something. If anyone knows better, please enlighten me.

Ah yes, I had your same issue! As explained by Gambio in a post above we can only trigger the messages if we interact with a closed trial chest without the required members, yeah. So if we want to read those we shouldn't open them and supposedly come back later on in game with a different party. I'll try that when CS2 will be on Steam.

If you're referring to the first game no worries there, all of its chests are silent XD

I'm playing CS II too, but if you refer to the Trial Chests, as of now (Aqua Shrine), up to Act I Part 3, no chest messages. Maybe because you're pretty much forced to have the required characters, i guess...

To see the early game chest messages you must skip the chests till you can come back with the ability to switch party members and then come back with the wrong party, you will be able to revisit all the chests so none are missable.

Its a New Game + thing really, you carry all your stuff like that over with 0 spent points thus you dont need to grab them asap.

Some messages in skies were funny, but most of them like whatever ( some were doubles or more ), not that feature to be upset about if it's missing.
