The Liberl Trilogy is collectively LoH 6, the Crossbell dualogy is collectively LoH 7 and the Erebonia Trilogy is technically LoH 8.
EDIT: Also, the game is refered to as ed8 in the save files, while Sky FC is refered to as ED6. ED stands for Eiyuu Densetsu, which means The Legend of Heroes.
The numbering was actually dropped by the time SC came out for PC in Japan. FC was originally titled 'Legend of Heroes VI: Sora no Kiseki' - but when they released SC, they retitled FC to be 'The Legend of Heroes: Sora no Kiseki FC' - and the rest of the games continued with that titling scheme.
On the back end of the game, however, you can see the numbering still remains intact. In the code and the file naming, they still refer to the Sora trilogy as 'ED6', (ED = Eiyuu Densetsu = Legend of Heroes) the Crossbell duology is listed as ED7, and while I've not seen them personally myself, I've heard that ED8 comes up in the Erebonia games as well.
Ah okay, I didn't know that, thanks! Oh, and by the way, you are a huge help in the community so I need to say: Thank you! I've been a lurker since Sky FC on PSP and I want you to know that your posts, especially on the Xseed Forums, and your translation work for Endless History are, at the very least, appreciated by me and I'm sure many others.
And actually, I had a question: Do we know if there is going to be a trailer for Sen III today? Some posters on the Xseed Forums are making it sound like Falcom's getting ready to show something, or am I misunderstanding?
Thank you! <3
I think Falcom's getting ready to show something, but unlike everyone else, I've personally been predicting that we won't see it until next week- especially since it's before they go on their summer vacation and just before Comiket. And to add to this, I've seen them wait until sometime into August to release trailers for a September game in the past.
I personally suspect that they're waiting until they have photos of the PS4 unit that's being released.
Additionally, if we've not seen it by now, we won't see it until after the weekend, at the earliest. It's 5am on Saturday in Japan right now, and Falcom's offices are closed on the weekend.
Ah, okay that makes sense. If they are going on their Summer vacation soon they will propably drop the trailer before they go. Thanks for letting me know!

As I said in my response earlier, Falcom dropped the Legend of Heroes numbering when SC came out in 2006. The Crossbell duology is only named as '7' in its file structure, never on the box or its official titles.
The only accuracy in this is the naming of Sora no Kiseki as 'Legend of Heroes VI' - but even that was dropped when Falcom renamed it to 'Sora no Kiseki FC' at SC's release.
You can see it dropped from SC and 3rd in the LE boxed set photos I posted on my site: https://www.esterior.net/2014/06/editorial-happy-tenth-anniversary-kiseki-series-picspam-unboxing-of-the-original-trilogy-limited-sets/
7 is a special number in this series. It comes up a lot even outside of the Erebonia games.

If there's going to be a real successor to The Legend of Heroes. You can be damn sure the numerical they'll use is 7. The numbers used in these last few games is for technical reasons only.
