Healing your crew members

If you want to "revive" one of your crew members you can simply use a first aid kid but you can also train one of your crew members to become some sort of medic. My question is how does that work? I've trained one of my members but I don't know how to use that ability, do you?

Unconscious crew will still need a med kit to get them back on thier feet. The Medic skill allows you to heal conscious crew.

I have my Engineer trained as medic, he runs around healing crew while they stay at thier station.

Not sure how its supposed to work, when I select my medic you can see the green heal icons above the other crew members, but I havent figured out a way to actually heal them.

The first medic skill allows you to heal conscious crew with a med kit. The description is not very clear. They will be healed to full health, as opposed to partial health if you wait till they go down to use the med kit.

The second medic skill allows you to slowly heal conscious crew without using a med kit. Once the medic has this skill, you'll see green icons over any injured crew when they are selected as opposed to just when holding a med kit. Click the green icon to heal.

I trained the navigator as medic. His skills are only needed when you have to change the heading and if you close in to your mission target. There are long phases of boring horizontal flight, so he can easily heal up the crew with his level 4 medic skill while the pilot just keeps flying straight to the mission area or home.

You cannot click on them, and clicking on the crew member just selects them.

I guess its as Randox says and I need a medkit, only the icons are always appearing even when I do not have a medkit.

Is your medic level 4? I think 4 is the level you get the ability to heal people without using a medkit.

Also another hint, you can also use med kits on alive and up crew men. This is especially useful if they're close to getting downed, med kits will heal them to full health.

you can click the it shoud be + icons when the heal conscious skill is unlocked.

I have a level 2 medic and she doesn't heal anyone, what gives? There's no icon. Got someone killed last game.
