What is the goal of this game?
Can anyone summarise what is the ultimate goal of this game?
Surely not fun... even the tutorial is primordial.

I spent 10 minutes to try and have the lost kid come out of the hiding spot as I could not figure out what was expected of me.

The goal of this game is to evolve in to a human.

Not quite - you evolve into a proto-hominid. But IMHO set your own goals - like explore every Landmark on the map. If you just play to "beat" the game by evolving as fast as possible it's gonna be very tedious.

I'm having the same problem. I keep pressing B trying to comfort the lost child ... and I have no idea what the F is going on.

Who the hell is doing a tutorial like this?

The goal is to evolve. The game doesn't hold your hand and you're intended to learn how the world works through trial and error. The sparse tutorial is only meant to get you on your feet; the rest of the journey is yours.

Of course, there are plenty of resources outside the game if you're so inclined. However, the majority of the fun is in learning on your own.
