Plus, I suppose the fact that it tries to aim for a more realistic approach to teaching game mechanics (by allowing players to figure them out for themselves) is probably one of the reasons why very few people are willing to give it a chance.
No, the game is set up to be played alone. Though there are a group that want to be able to play with friends.. myself included.
"How do I ... ?" is the game.
I happen to be one of those gamers who would rather learn how a game ought to be played by finding out for myself rather than being told directly by the developers through a tutorial.
Though the fact that this game so far tries to really aim for realism by not holding your hand twenty-four seven and by "punishing" players for being careless really makes it special.
