The game keeps turning my HUD off

I am just starting out, and it keeps turning the HUD off. The result is that every few minutes I have to open the setting and turn it back on. Is there a way to change it on the fly, or at least make the settings be authoritative. This is so frustrating for a new player. I am sure I will eventually not need it, but it is changing the settings I picked before I started the game.

I don't recall, that was too long ago. If you use a controller, down on the D-pad turns it back on, so I am guessing there is a keyboard command to do that to. I seem to recall just having to turn it back on all the time.

Same. The HUD show very little useful information anyway, you could just get used to having it turned off.

LOL. Learn how to read it. I've been through the game 3 times and still would never even consider playing with no HUD.

The Help screens (from the pause screen) will help you understand the HUD elements.
