Finding new clan members?

So far I have found the 1 female and the 1 male I got to join. I made the female have 1 baby and the other as well. They both had the babies and the second round I have them pregnant again. The issue I'm wanting though is where do I find more? I want more female and males to help build my group. Though the thing I found is my tree is pretty big now, should I just grow 15 years. So I have the next gen of 4 adults to make babies and hope to find more clan members or what?

It can be tough to expand without new apes joining your clan. And I don't know of any good answer as to where to find them. The best you can do is to always be using your senses while on expeditions. Lone apes appear here and there and you don't want to miss them. But I've found that in most of my generations I don't add any new apes. And when I do, it's often a male.

At one time my clan got up to about 16 members plus 6 babies. For a number of generations I had 3 fertile females and thus 6 offspring each generation. But then I got into a little trouble and for a while now I've only had 2 fertile females each generation. So I've been hoping for a new female clan member. I just found a lone ape before my last game save but I didn't stop to check its sex. Hopefully it's a female and I can start to expand a bit.

The lone ape I just found was in a patch of grassland near a new oasis. I could easily have missed it if I didn't purposely wander around the oasis using my senses to identify everything.

In my experience the game will put the other apes close to wherever you slept last - may want to make a big circle around the sleep spot as soon as you wake up when trying to find new members.
