also if there's other items on the stack or super close by then it won't do it either. I think at first you need 5, but right now I only need 2 because I have developed the skill to reduce the amounts needed.
so once you have them stacked, step back and walk up to it and look for "construct bed press y" once it give you that option press y and then it will have a build option where you have to press a alot of times before it completes.
you can do this with elder or adult, you can do this with or without a kid on your back.
I'd recommend that you try first in an area where there isn't anything else on the ground, just because that can sometimes be a problem.
Just make sure you put all the leaves in one stack.
Need more info. It's not a bug that I've ever seen (and I've played and watched hundreds of hours of gameplay).
You start as a baby. Follow the tutorial instructions to find a Hiding Spot or return to your clan's Settlement.
If you started the game with No Tutorial selected, you should start over with the tutorial (and take the time to actually read and follow the instructions).
It takes about 4 or 5 leaves at first but, I have never had an issue with getting the prompt when a full stack was made either. I wouldn't recommend making it with more than necessary though since it just wastes the extras. Having a child on you back or item in your hand shouldn't make a difference. Bare minimum try without holding an item if necessary. The kids are necessary for neuronal development.
@Legion: If you are talking about the 1st death in the cut scene, that is part of the game and unavoidable. The easiest way to save the child is to have them hide in a hiding spot that looks like a pile of rocks with some plants sticking out of it and some visible small entrances. It will give you a prompt to hide when next to it. The game will switch control to an adult in the clan and they can reach the area without experiencing fear. Use your senses to find them. Comfort them to get them to come out and carry them to the settlement.
You cannot construct while playing as a child. You can investigate others in your clan and press "A" for Xbox controller, when using one, to switch to playing as them. So, the interact button.
The amount of leaves you are using is good. Just make sure the stack isn't too close to anything and that you are playing as an adult or an elder. You can try moving it around a bit to find where it will work. You should get a prompt to construct it when all the conditions are correct.
I would suggest constructing the sleep spot where it is protected from the rain so that you don't get too cold when using it while it is raining
Yes, you have the option of ignoring the tutorial messages and doing what you want, but then you don't get to complain the game is bugged, because it isn't.
The tutorial isn't great, but beginners who don't turn on the tutorial or who don't take the time to read the tutorial popups and follow the instructions are really going to struggle.
