How the hell do you create a sleep spot (PC) ?
I've read every post, i've analysed the plants, stacked the items, My hands are empty, the kid isnt on my back, i've tried at least 5 locations, im using an elder chimp/adult....ive tried 3/4/5/6/7/8/9 leaves and i never get a prompt to construct ?! Driving me insane lol

ok so you stack this plant with big leaves, I forget what it's called, but looks fernlike. you put one down, then you need to stack them. you can't just put them down, they have to be put down the the option to stack them. there is such a thing as putting soo many down that it won't let you do it.

also if there's other items on the stack or super close by then it won't do it either. I think at first you need 5, but right now I only need 2 because I have developed the skill to reduce the amounts needed.

so once you have them stacked, step back and walk up to it and look for "construct bed press y" once it give you that option press y and then it will have a build option where you have to press a alot of times before it completes.

you can do this with elder or adult, you can do this with or without a kid on your back.

I'd recommend that you try first in an area where there isn't anything else on the ground, just because that can sometimes be a problem.

natal grass cynad is what you want to make a bed. it works the same way as making sticks into a barrier. I don't remember if I needed an ability to do it, but I don't think so at least I could do it early. definately once you can craft anything else or transfer items from one hand to the other.

Nope, you can start building from minute one. Well, sleep spots and dead branch barriers you can - thornbush walls you need to develop brief bipedalism in order to be able to carry items with both hands.

I find the barriers a pain in the derriere , they do some weird crap , like when I come back to the game sometimes they are floating 1 to 2 feet off the ground , and my apes keep climbing on top of them , I just ended up building a whole bunch of them to get a Neuron and then destroyed them all . Placement is also not great because you can't just snap them into position / together .

I am having the same problem. I have 5 natal grass leaves in a stack, and no option to construct has appeared. I have tried from 1 right up to max stack and never get the option to construct. Now for some bugged-out reason, the adult died after rescuing the baby, I thought that was just part of the story of the game so I am playing as the baby but in any videos I watch the adult is still there. Is my game just completely bugged now and I need to start again? Regret buying this game, I am just confused and frustrated, zero enjoyment so far.

Usually this is because you accidentally made more than one stack, so neither stack is reaching the required number.

Just make sure you put all the leaves in one stack.

Need more info. It's not a bug that I've ever seen (and I've played and watched hundreds of hours of gameplay).

You start as a baby. Follow the tutorial instructions to find a Hiding Spot or return to your clan's Settlement.

If you started the game with No Tutorial selected, you should start over with the tutorial (and take the time to actually read and follow the instructions).

@rtorbs: That is very confusing. Do you have the game set to give prompts and help when possible? You might have to check settings if you never get prompts.
It takes about 4 or 5 leaves at first but, I have never had an issue with getting the prompt when a full stack was made either. I wouldn't recommend making it with more than necessary though since it just wastes the extras. Having a child on you back or item in your hand shouldn't make a difference. Bare minimum try without holding an item if necessary. The kids are necessary for neuronal development.

@Legion: If you are talking about the 1st death in the cut scene, that is part of the game and unavoidable. The easiest way to save the child is to have them hide in a hiding spot that looks like a pile of rocks with some plants sticking out of it and some visible small entrances. It will give you a prompt to hide when next to it. The game will switch control to an adult in the clan and they can reach the area without experiencing fear. Use your senses to find them. Comfort them to get them to come out and carry them to the settlement.
You cannot construct while playing as a child. You can investigate others in your clan and press "A" for Xbox controller, when using one, to switch to playing as them. So, the interact button.
The amount of leaves you are using is good. Just make sure the stack isn't too close to anything and that you are playing as an adult or an elder. You can try moving it around a bit to find where it will work. You should get a prompt to construct it when all the conditions are correct.

I would suggest constructing the sleep spot where it is protected from the rain so that you don't get too cold when using it while it is raining

The Game is simply buggy, if u use the Kid , as an intelligent Human, to climb up the Trees and return by urself to the Camp (Because u of course have seen that u was just crapped a few seconds and than dropped ), instead of hiding in the hidout, the game is broken u get the quests to make a bed for sleeping, but u can follow the exact steps and there is NO option to build a Bed. Because u still play the kid instead of the adult Ape. A Bug that really doesnt should be in a game, i mean a game broken in the Starter Tutorial, thats a really hard stuff i so far never have seen in any game before.....

This isn't a bug, you aren't doing as the game requests which you freely acknowledge.

Did you walk up to an adult and see the "Piggyback" prompt when playing as the baby?

Yes, you have the option of ignoring the tutorial messages and doing what you want, but then you don't get to complain the game is bugged, because it isn't.

The tutorial isn't great, but beginners who don't turn on the tutorial or who don't take the time to read the tutorial popups and follow the instructions are really going to struggle.
