Should I buy it?
I like monke and open world games, it is on sale too. Should I buy it? I don't have a controller btw, I saw somebody say it is difficult without one and I was wondering if that was true.

Here you go bud I did you a solid and asked 3,176 players if they think you should buy this game.

I then compiled all the answers into a sortable, easy-to-read format for you.

You're welcome! :cozybethesda:

I played this game without a controller and i did not find it hard at all.

i was thinking about it before it was even on sale so i snatched up the opportunity. i suggest you watch a review video or two just to see what it's. I personally tried to avoid watching too many videos on it as it is a game where you are kinda supposed to figure things out on your own.

I found the game absolutely fantastic! my only problem is i wanted more! one of few games i got all the achievements though it's not that hard. a controller does help a lot but not needed

I really enjoyed this game. It's not perfect, it needs some more content to fill it and I'd love a sequel to take us all the way to human. But it is very unique, standing out in a market filled with copy cat games. I really remember my experience in the game with fondness (even if I never want to make another darn spear ever again!) :D

If you're still deciding, I'd decide against it. It's just an XP grind. Pump out some babies, grind XP, reinforce skills, pump babies, grind XP, reinforce, babies, XP, reinforce, babies, XP, reinforce. Sure, there's some variation in there. Sometimes you'll need to drink or eat or kill a tiger but the vast majority of the game seems to be those 3 words on loop... babies, XP, reinforce.

^Betting this player never made it out of the Jungle.

Yes. If you're playing it just to Evolve, it's grindy. Explore the map instead. It's HUGE. Much larger than you think.

That's how the devs intended you to play - the map mimics the planet in this time period - it gets drier and drier as you move and forces you to adapt and evolve to meet the new challenges.

If you're just evolving endlessly in the Jungle biome you're missing the whole point of the game.

I made it to the Woodlands, actually. And aside from different baddies and being worse (lack of vertical movement)... it's the same. Grind, grind, grind. Boring af. If the devs wanted you to do something other than the grind, they should have made those other things more rewarding.

Hell, I couldn't even build anything when I started because I took the baby back to the camp instead of hiding. So the "tutorial" was bugged as hell and I had to restart... Cool concept but bad execution. If you want a walking simulator, go play Death Stranding. More things to do and see and significantly fewer quick time events because QTEs are all that this game is.

I'm disappointed...

this game is just a huge map... but you are bored before exploring it...

The tech tree is just buffing what you already know from the begining...

4 tools... 1 bone... 3 structures...

40 euros for this...

After some hours I can say it's not really a management/survival game... there is not really any challenges. You can craft 70% of the game content without going out your first shelter!!!... so... yes you won't go out the jungle...

sad sad sad... Everything is here to go to cromagnon though!

no don't buy it, the game ends in a cliffhangar and there's is no signs of the next phase of this series if ever does become one... Coming out.. you get glymphs of slowly starting to become Human or homosapian but the game ends there with no more progressions leading to a 2nd game which will probably never come out, so no its not worth getting.

Its all personal opinion/preference... Alot of complaints are just user error as well.. So really its all down to the player..

Amazing - I think that's the first time in 30+ years of gaming I've seen "There may not be a sequel" given as a reason *not* to buy a game. :steamfacepalm:
