Any way to make a sharp stick faster?
I've been doing some fighting recently but it takes far too long to use the stone to sharpen a stick, is there some thing to make it faster? can i use an obsidian rock or is there some kind of upgrade or something? because it takes far too long to make a sharp stick to fight with

You can use a stone to alter basalt to get a very good tool to alter sticks with. I belive it can turn a dead branch into a charpened stick with only 5 hits.

Thing is i do that then he just starts rubbing the stone against objects like he's trying to start a fire, unless i used the wrong rocks

You don't need to talk like a caveman, i'm just trying to gain some advice, Don't know yet what the rubbing rock does honestly, he's just rubbing the 2 rocks together there's no time queue for doing anything, it must have a feature, i've just not found it yet

I think the sharpened obsidian rock is the faster/best. Also, getting the monkeys to work with you and follow group instructions will allow you to make more sharpened sticks, so you're not wasting time mid-fight/explore. Lastly, you can make things faster if you connect the neurons. I think you can make a bed and sharpened stick in like 2-3 moves.

Ok the rubby rock is called a Granite Grinder and you know who still uses a grinder every day at work? Your pharmacist. And what do pharmacists use grinders to make?

Obsidian makes the second-best tool. The third type of rock makes the best tool but is hardest to work with because it shatters easily.

Don't think like a video gamer trying to figure out what the developer wants to you do - think like a primate. Experiment, try new things, advance your knowledge and skills through trial-and-error.

We learn by failing and trying again.

The basalt chopper is the fastest tool for most crafting. The only thing it isn't the fastest at is butchering (obsidian slicer is slightly faster at that). Also, advancing your crafting skills will make crafting faster with all tools. In my current save, I've advanced to where the chopper and slicer both upgrade things in just one hit, and the plain old granite rock upgrades things in 5 hits.

You say that but there's only 4 things to construct in your base which is a bit stupid considering there's a skill area for that and you can't even make a fire, like Cmon, man making Fire was such a big thing and not even in the game

Early man didn't start using fire for another 20 million years. I don't think this game is for you TBH.

Fire wasn't harnessed until the advent of the H. genus, none of whose members are present in this game. (H. ergaster doesn't count, it only appears in the ending cutscene.) The early homonids we play never figured it out before they went extinct/evolved into us.

Edit: had to shorten the genus to "H." because apparently Steam thinks scientific names are swear words.

Fastest way is to call the pack let them imitate you grab a stick ect you need to prepare the tool for it first and that ability to imitate is midgame i think?
