Why aren't my clan eating, sleeping or drinking when I'm away?
I come back and they're all dying of thirst, hunger and sleep deprivation. Thanks

Its called BAD programming. Its a complaint that has been in for a long time and makes the game very unrealistic and annoying. Wait till you change to them as you die guess what you die of no food you die of no sleep you die of no water and NO way to stop it.
Work around to apparently stop this BAD programming and very stupid effect is to sleep and end expedition. So basically you need to tell the world that hang on I'm about to go out. How do they evolve if they all die of Stupidity.

If you've been switching between hominins whilst doing stuff with each of them, they are considered to be part of your group, just set into the "Wait Here" mode. Just head over to a sleep spot and "End Expedition" and they'll be fine. Sometimes you won't get that option, but just manually recruit someone as per normal and then choose to do it to send everyone off to do their own thing.

Yah Lewis with all due respect to Mic not everybody "gets" this game. If you're willing to evolve your understanding of what makes a good game and learn how to do more than pew pew pew as you've been doing with all the other games in your Library there's a lot here to enjoy.

As RCMidas says your clan's stats are frozen when they're at base. They don't need to eat, drink or sleep.

As soon as you take control of one, you're responsible for that one's hunger/thirst/rest. Understanding ^this makes it much easier to use your clan effectively.

This is exactly the problem that should not exist. They are part of your group that you have taught to eat and drink and sleep. You leave them alone and they starve so all that teaching was to no effect at all??

They will never starve or die of thirst or sleep deficiency while they're at your Settlement.

Mic you need to learn how to use them effectively. The primate *you* are controlling is the one learning all this new stuff. Don't expect the rest of the clan to just automatically learn it through osmosis - that's silly.

Your clan is not an army. They're a group of smart animals that need a leader!

Think like a leader and only expose them to danger when absolutely necessary.

I actually do not like combat games. But when combat is placed in a game I expect it to be logical and gain something from it. I also expect that when there is role play that it is effective not I teach you to eat and drink and you starve to death.

I'm pretty sure no organism on earth has ever needed to learn to eat or drink. They learn by watching their parents but even if they have no parents they'll likely figure it out on their own so they don't die. That's survival 101.

You're not grasping this game's mechanics in terms of how to use the clan effectively. If you want to improve instead of just complain watch the videos I linked in the other thread. That channel has many more Ancestors vids including full playthroughs if you want to learn & improve.

The indisputable fact is that thousands of players have learned how to do this - you can too *if you want to*. If you're not enjoying the game, just write it off and move on to something else. But please don't trash the game because you're not improving when improvement is possible.

Exactly my point
And humans must be taught to eat drink and sleep but when you leave them after being taught they dont die

Its also a fact that the biggest complaint AGAINST this game is the fact that the AI does NOT learn! and yes I have MOVED on as this is not enjoyable when its not logical and the biggest complaints against the game are not addressed

Eh this is one of the better animal simulators I've played. I've been really enjoying this game.

Oh right, I asked because my character got killed and when it switched to another member of the clan they were dangerously low on all their needs. Its a bit inconvenient but if it's only an issue in those circumstances then it's not too much of a bother
